Trying to install debian on an already partitioned HDD.... problem...

I have a 6.4 rive partiotioned one for downloads an the other is just windows o.p.

The windows partition has 3.2GB free wich i want to use for debian, i know i can use fips to split the already dos partition to install debian or any other op.

the problem is that i run fips an it says that it can split the partition cuz i have some files at the end of the drive, i run speed disk from norton (defrag), delete image.idx, and still same problem.

1. What may be the problem?
2. How can i fix it?

any freeware, i really don't have the money to buy anything! i download evrything i have! cept windows and office! the rest i have installed is borrowe or downloaded!

....errr..... im using windows..... and gnu parted is used from linux, isn't it?

That's right of their page. So yes, but you can work around that.
