Trying to get my computer back up to par.

Long story short, I havent overclocked this thing for almost a year and I am trying to get my computer back up to par.
Here is what I currently have:

E6400 with a big zalman cooler on it
ga-965p-ds3 (I got it right around the time it came out)
74 gig raptor and 320 gig 7200.10
8800gt oc (evga) *Just purchased*
2 x 2gig (Patriot Extreme Performance 4GB(2 x 2GB) 4-4-4-12 DDR2 800 *just purchased*

I want to get a new motherboard to utilize this ram/cpu since in my mobo's bios I cant change the memory down to 4-4-4-12 and overlocking has been less than desirable due to lack of options in the bios.
If I am wasting my time with this CPU please let me know, I figured I can get a new motherboard to crank what I have to get better performance.

Thanks for any thoughts on my system.

Forgot to mention, i am on XP going to Vista64 soon and this is a gaming machine.

I think you don't know about the special key combo you have to use, to get acces to the overclocking functions. I think it's control + f1, try it, and you probably won't have to get a new motherboard to at least get a decent overclock out of that cpu.

You know what, its been so long I totally forgot about that. Well I hope my forgetfullness and your reply can help out someone in the future.😱

I am trying to get up to a point where crysis would be playable on my machine.

I was also wondering if the newer motherboards like the abit ip35 would show me an improvement over my mobo which was bought in winter 2006/2007.
