I have a soyo ss7 board with a k6-3 333 cpu trying to get it to run.
I have been troubleshooting for about an hour. Removed everything but the
cpu and fan, the board is sitting on the wood floor. Turn power on touch power prongs with screw driver to get board to run and get no beep codes? I have triple checked switch settings and voltage setting everything is fine. Where should I go from here? Any help appreciated
thanks:frown:

Does it attempt to turn on? Does the psu/heatsink fan attempt to spin? Any noises? Does your monitor say anything?

This is a K6-3?  Does the Soyo board support K6-3?  You have the bus set for 66MHz?  The multiplier at x5?  The core voltage at 2.4, or is it 2.2?  Have you tried x3 @ 100MHz?  Do you have any other socket7 cpu's you can try?

When I turn on the power the fan starts and I can hear things run. However, No video is evident. The chip says 2.2 core voltage and it is a 95mhz chip. I have run this board before with this chip.

Hi guys I don't want to screw around with this mobo forever. What is the ultimate test. Could I put the board on a piece of wood.Plug in the cpu. Put a stick of ram in the appropriate slot. Attach a vid card. Attach power and flick the switch.Should I see the boot up sequence on the screen? And hear some kind of beep code if there is a problem?
