Hi,

I'm trying to get Internet Explorer 6 and I downloaded the setup file, but when launched it gave me an error that said, "A previous installation has pending work requiring a reboot."

I'm a newbie and went searching for any previous IE6 install file, but found none.

Then, both IE5 and MSN Explorer began to crash (hard freezes), requiring reboot.

I'm running XP Home on a Dell 2400.

If you have any ideas on how to deal with this and finally get IE6 in, I'd appreciate seeing them. By the way, I need IE6 because a site I use requires it. Otherwise, I use Firefox.

Thanks.

Have you tried getting IE6 through Windows Update?

Yes, no matter how I try to get it the same 480K file is downloaded (setup file) and I wind up getting the same message. Frustrating.
