thanks for the tips...

I think ill start off by eating a meal right before bed, and then eating/drinking a ton of protein.

I really dont think weight lifting would work for me until I can put weight on by eating. I'll just stick to regular excersize for now.

1 pint of chocolate 2% milk
2 maple donuts with walnuts
half a pizza (large)
large glass of 2% milk

How much money do you spend a day on food? :Q
Two large pizza's a day
That's like $20 total a day for food.
$600 a month food budget, I wish I can eat like that.

if i eat normally, 3 or 4 meals daily - to fullness - i will not maintain my weight.

My solution is to eat a meal AT BEDTIME . . . . .

Eating a meal at bedtime is a great idea. I am a certified personal trainer and I tell all my clients NOT to eat right before they go to bed because when you sleep your metabolism drastically slows and so all the food turns into fat. In your case, do the opposite. Also, as obvious as this sounds, all you have to do is take in more calories than you burn. Eat 5 times a day, high calorie, high carb- you don't necessarily have to eat high protein. Eat lots of pasta. There are typically over 1000 calories in a pound of pasta.

You're a certified personal trainer and you spit out falsehoods like that? First off, your metabolism does not drastically slow down while you sleep. What does slow down is your breathing, which in turn causes a lower resting heart rate overall. Heart rate and metabolism are two different things. Secondly, there are many factors which determine where calories go when they are ingested. The majority of them are related to your hormonal state, not time of day.

Whey Protein and serious training sessions at least 3-4 times a week. Nothing too hard at first, just toning, then after a month or so start picking it up. Start going for muscle building and do very little cardio. Up your calory intake and you're good to go.

Basic metabolism slows during NREM sleep.

"drastically" no. (unless you are a hibernating bear) The reason you don't want to eat a large meal before you go to bed is due to the fact that your body will not be actively burning those calories. They will be burned passively, thus burned at a slower rate.

Sweet Jesus! Man, so many people would be happy to have your problems 😀

Just hope that your metabolism slows as you grow older, I suppose.

Sheeit ain't that the truth. If I had a faster metabolism that would be great. As it is now that I'm working again I am losing a lot of the weight I gained from sitting on my ass all day.

EDIT: BTW I'm 5'6" and 175 pounds.

Good luck with your weight gain and quit your b!tching you toothpick.
