Trying to find the middle ground...

Hello, I'm a console gamer looking to switch to PC before college. I tend to get very addicted to mmorpgs. I haven't played them since middle school but I tried runescape, world of warcraft, and final fantasy 11 and got addicted to them all. I forced myself to quit each one.

On the other hand regular rpgs like oblivion, fallout, and dragon age tend to be somewhat fun or hardly fun at all for me, and they don't last me very long either. I just played me:2 and did most of the side quests and beat in a little over 20 hours. I'm currently playing New Vegas and it's barely holding my attention for some reason.

I don't replay single player rpgs either unless I haven't touched them for a long time and when I do its mostly for the nostalgia. Something that doesn't seem to work as much as I get older haha.

I don't think many others have this problem with rpgs but is there a middle ground? I want to play them but idk if it's worth it. Guild Wars is the only compromise I can think of for now, but that might not work out either. If all else fails I can just stick to RTS :)

What is it about MMOs that addicts you, the social part?

If so, you might like a game with co-op, like Borderlands.

That's probably part of it but I'm not sure exactly. Borderlands I beat and it was a great game offline, but once I went online everyone was modding using invincible armor and 1 hit kill weapons. That pretty much killed it for me.

You will start to mind if you play ranked games. Everyone just loses on purpose and doesn't try.. It's extremely aggravating. Good luck in your search.
