Trying to find best laptop under 2k

Hi, I'm trying to find the best possible gaming laptop for around 2k. I would prefer 1900 x1200 with a blu-ray drive since I'm going to be using it for blu-ray and media stuff in addition to gaming. I found this but the screen resolution is a little low and was wondering if anyone had any other ideas. I thought about doing an Alienware one but they seemed slightly overpriced. Also is Asus a good laptop company to buy from in regards to build and customer service. Again, thanks.

oh.. that i dont know. i think sony mostly puts blueray players in theirs, but i dont think sony has ever made a gaming laptop. maybe look at dell xpx, there might be a blueray option for those

other alternative is to get an external one

Thanks for all the help, I'm probably going to go with the Asus at Newegg. Truth be told I rather have a desktop but I'm at college and that means moving semester to semester and the fact that I'm not always there.

Hans, I would love to get the Gateway but I can't find it anywhere. I am in Canada so that will make it ever more challenging. Does anyone know where I can find this thing? It looks like it isn't available at NewEgg anymore.

newegg sells a more expensive version of it http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16834101166
but in my opinion its not worth the extra $400 compared to the best buy one

you might try looking on ebay too

I ended up buying a Dell Studio 17 on Black Friday.

Basically...I got everything I wanted, except for a great video card. the best they offered in my price range (about $1500) is the Radeon HD 3650. Keep in mind that the Gateway reliability is suspect. HP is OK...but the warranty requires mailing it in. Dell has next business day home service. Also, Dell has the backlit keyboard...which HP doesn't have.

Check out Dell on Cyber Monday...the deals are still decent.
