Right Now, I'm looking at the X800 XL and the 6800XT.

But in terms of performance, and overclockability, which would you guys recommend?

(the x800 XL is in there because ATi is having a sale on them)

I personally like the X800 XL better, because from what i hear, they can be overclocked to XT's ;)

so what do you guys think?

6800XT or X800 XL?

(btw its AGP) and any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Theres even 6800GTs floating around on FS/FT for $150ish in AGP.

A little over your budget, but if they can scrape up the extra itd certinaly be a large jump for very little money.

well, unfortunately, he's only willing to spend 100-140 CDN on a card that should last him 2-3 years. he will only do moderate gaming as I dont see him playing much F.E.A.R or BF2 etc, etc. The reason why i chose the X800 XL is because its on clearance at ATi.ca and it fits the budget! However, its refurbrished, So i dont know if i should go with a brand new 6800 XT or a refurbrished, but almost as good as new X800XL with a 3 year warranty!

140 CDN? (runs off screaming)

If you can get an X800XL at that price point its a good deal...

Its also significantly faster than the 6800XT.

Id still reccomend used, and saving up a bit more.

Especially since you want the card to last 2-3 years, thats a joke for a mid range - low end card.

 yea, but in reality, i think i can see him lasting 2-3 years with the card, because he plays a lot of MMORPG's and RTS games, so its not THAT graphic intense. ;)

btw linky to the X800XL
:)

6800 XT is stupid. A friend of mine is still running on his (PCIe) X800 XL... and he loves it. Overclock that baby and love it!

Yeah, the only reason i listed those two is they will be brutal on systems during raids... Espeically warhammer if its anything like darkage was. (200+ players fighting each other at once, +npcs all over the place)
