this is the first time i'm going to be buying a headset so I was just wondering what the best would be for under $40. I've been reading past threads and it seems that the following two are the most widely used:

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=292605

and

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=286030

(about as high as i'd like to go)

I don't need anything with noise cancellation because i'm not going to be in a noisy setting, furthermore I understand that I'm not going to be getting outstanding quality in music or gaming, but I suppose I want the best bang for my buck. Any help would be appreciated. Also I do have a laptop that doesn't have an amazing sound card.

Thanks,
Nab

yeah the cheapest shipping cost is $9, which makes it almost the same as zipzoomfly

zipzoomfly has free shipping....i don't mind waiting for 5-7 days for the ground shipping

but, you would recommend these over the other ones even with the price difference?

I have both of these headsets and they are excellent.

The Sennheizers are definitely the better of the two. Construction is a bit more sturdy, not old school quality but definately a cut above the norm these days. Sound quality is typically good but not what dedicated headphones give. These are for gaming I'd asume?

The Plantronics are little less refined but considering they can be had for almost half the cost of the Senns I'd say the are the best buy. Sound is a bit less defined and punchy but they get the job done and are about as comfortable as the 150s.

BTW I bought both my 150s and .audio 90s off Ecost. Ecost's shipping $ sucks but the prices are nice.

Plantronics .Audio 90

Sennhiser PC 150

I use the 150s on my system and my GF uses the .90s on my secondary system. I also bought a second pair of the .90s for her home system.

BTW I think the .Audio 90s have been discontinued for a newer model. I've noticed a new line of Plantronics in stores. They have squarish shaped earpieces.

Ive heard some bad things about that logitech headset. I own the pc 150's and they are great. I've had no problems though the quaility isn't quite as good as my px100's (b/c they're closed and noise cancelling pretty much kills it) but they are still great sounding, and they come w/ the built in mic. They were a little uncomfortable at first but then i got used to them - same with all senheisers i think...
