Trying to do a fundraiser for myself. Need help finding a hostting web site with no, or minimal adds.

Anybody know of a free web site that hosts with little or no ads?

And no, the fundraiser is not so I can buy a new toy. It is something much more serious. My kids are now living in a Salvation Army home with my wife while she collects child support, and we are not even divorced yet :|

I need to raise funds ASAP. I was working things out with her for joint custody and never once got into a agruement with her. Things were looking good as far as a dissolution of marrage goes. But she up and left town and in less than two weeks I get a child support notice that I must pay $600 (A little less but basically that is it) per month. That only allows me to save $150/mo for a lawyer... which if everything goes perfectly, I can afford one in only 30 months, less he exceeds his allocated time with that money (@ a rate of $175/hr) :|

No I need funds ASAP, much sooner than that. I have a few idea's to make a few dollars. But I do not want intrusive adds. While technically I can afford ad fee based online hostings, that is a expence I only want to pay if it is only absolutely neccessary. So anybody have any links?

Keep this bumped close to the top. There are plenty of AT'ers here that can *maybe* help you for free. I won't drop any names, because that will be entirely up to them. But I'm sure if you can just get the 8 bux for the domain name, someone here can help you, depending on your bandwidth requirements of course.

And also, they might want to know a little bit more about your situation first, and what you plan to do.

Wow, I was not expecting such quick replies on this :Q

Basically the bandwidth will be minimal if I can figure out how to resize pictures. I do not own any web page making software and my knowledge of html if very very limited (did I stress very limited?). I can make a text based web page with photos, and it ends around there.

Basically what I want to do is sell various trinkets that I can find locally and are what unique to my region. Some examples might include ivory carvings, beechwood, artifacts and whatever else I might find. I am not a marketing wizzard, just your average A+ certifiable computer tech and a Safeway employee trying to sell things. My idea was simple, have a FS link in my signature and my outgoing emails. I might try the ebay thing... but my grammer sux hard core. It has been my observasion that people there w/o good grammer generally do not make that much on their sales.
 
I can offer hosting without a problem, but unfortunately I don't have time to help much further than that.
 
Sorry... I do not do AIM. In fact about the only simalar service I do is yahoo messenger which I seldom use. I only installed it on behest of a girlfriend (not the relationship type of g/f) while I was transfering photo's. I just never uninstalled it and has been on my puter since. Besides, I kinda like the launchcast 🙂
