Trying to disable the touch pad on my Laptop (Seanote)

Alright....went to BIOS, advanced set-up....there's a "Touchpad Support" option, the two setting options are "dual" and "single"; dual was the default setting and where it was set in the beginning. I just set it to single, but the same crap is still happening.

I figured if I put it to "single" the laptop would recognize only one pointing device at a time (instead of toggling between the mouse and the touch pad) but that's not the case.

Any ideas?

I wonder why you would want to disable your touchpad? If you really don't want it active, just unplug it.

Unplug it from the inside? I do not have the skills to do that right now.

I want to disable it because I keep hitting it when I type and my cursor flies all over the place, giving me text chunks one line up, one line down, etc.

Well I suppose you can find it in the Device Manager and disable it. Don't delete it otherwise it will just reinstall on your next reboot.

Do you have any special drivers installed for your TouchPad? If not, see if there are any available. The mouse control panel for my laptop has an extra tab where I can disable the touchpad.

That's what I figured too, there would be an extra tab in the device manager for it (seeing as it is just another pointing device, like a mouse), but there isn't.

Weird.
