I would have started by NOT naming the companies on a public message board.
Because? I'm not talking about a corporate level job here.
Companies don't like it.
If I found one of my workers posting on a forum (especially salary data) they would be out the door.
If you think about it, they may be paying current workers less than they are offering you. You never know.

Without reading the thread, I'm going to say take the blowjob.Trying to decide between 2 jobs.

I vote NCIX no question. It will look quite a bit better on your resume. I'd much rather hire someone with 2 years experience at NCIX than 2 years at Futureshop. The commute is too bad but it is a sacrifice to help build your career IMO. 50 Minutes isn't that bad anyway, especially since you aren't driving a car and can watch movies/listen to music on the way.
what exactly is it you want to do with your career? IT sales? retail management? something else?
the futureshop job only carries career stepping stone value if your plan is to get into retail management. then again, you were already doing that at 7-11 so if that's the plan, why not go back to 7-11 and start working out how you can open up your own or take over a franchise.
i see the ncix job being more of a stepping stone into IT sales. the way you describe it, the target customer is small businesses. If that is true, then it's a much better spin on the resume for the next level sales job than being the floor guy at futureshop. You get the opportunity to network and potentially build a local small business contact list to take with you to the next level.
if you want something else, take the futureshop job. it gives you more flexibility to dedicate to classes or whatever the next step in that something else is.
The first one is better. You'll end up with more money in the end and the most valuable, more personal time. I have done 1 hour commutes, they get old.
Update 2: So I've taken the NCIX position. Not worried too much about the commute. Nervous as hell about the position I should know plenty about hardware for the position but I'm good at talking myself into thinking I'm going to bomb. At any rate at worst I'll learn on the job. But I'm also excited about finially working again.

Now you have an excuse to buy a cool toy. Bet you'd like a new netbook, or Ebook reader for the ride :^)
