So I decided to make a list of self rewards as the size of my stock portfolio grows. Obviously some will drop the value back below the point that I give myself the reward at. I've passed some of them already, but included them here to give you an idea of what I'm trying to think of. All replies welcome, serious and humorous. I try to set immediate, mid, and long-term goals. One of my worst fears is setting a bar that I think is high enough, surpassing it, and then not having something after that, so the list goes VERY high.

I also have some prewritten numbers that I have NO clue what to do for that I've included here.

So any one that can help fill in the list, or add other dollar figures & rewards, have at it!

12,000 ? Buy that Lacoste Cologne I?ve wanted
13,000 - Get a NICE pair of jeans.
15,000 ? Move 500 into bank account.
20,000 ? Get a massage.
24,000 - Get firearms permit & .40
30,000 ?
50,000 -
100,000 ? Pay off higher interest rate student loans.
125,000 ? Nose job?
150,000
200,000 ? Pay off lower interest rate student loans.
250,000
300,000
350,000 ? Buy a house (Take out loan obviously).
5,000,000 ? Start Scholarship!

I think you should make a list of how to punish yourself when your portfolio tanks. It's only fair ;)

Your posts get funnier by the day.
Next thing you know, you'll have a spreadsheet of what you're going to post.

Whack off to the portfolio earnings report. Should work no matter how much you make.

The only plan I have is when my portfolio value is greater than the pricniple left on my home, I will start paying off hte home.
No reason other than the fact that I can.

Isn't spending money from your portfolio as you make it counterproductive?

personally, I would turn the money into something income producing either via small business or local investment, or through some sort of investment vehicle like dividends, writing options, or (if I were feeling saucy) REITs.

Then, I'd use the money from that income to play without lowering how much $$ i had invested.

Then again, IANAA and you probably shouldn't take financial advice from me.
