If this is for gaming, the only thing I'd change is bump the CPU down and bump the Videocard up.

looks nice. maybe back off on the cpu and spend more on the videocard. get a 3200+ winchester for $190 and a leadtek 6800 GT for $289 and you computer will be much faster and $54 less.

The 3200+ and the 6800GT is a good idea.

Make sure the Valuemem is the 2.5 type and not the 3. They seem to be about the same price.

You might consider getting memory that is 2. Link to HyperX.

I have had good results with this at 2-3-3-6. Some people prefer Patriot or Geil brands.

I think you can get a venice for around $190.

I would go with the x800xl myself

the venice i picked is the retail version with hsf can i get that cheaper ?

also i just check on asus website that motherboard DOES suport the new cpus

seems out of all the nforce 4 ultra boards i looked at the ASUS and the DFI ones are the only one that offically suport the new cpus soo far

msi i cant tell the website sucks and the forums are full of tardos
chaintech has horriable webpage and bios havent been updated in awhile

so it looks like im sticken with the asus

The Corsair ValueSelect is specifically noted as not passing in 2-module setups (although oddly it does pass in four-module configurations), in Asus's Qualified Vendor List for this motherboard. You might want to splurge for Corsair XMS 3200C2, which I happen to know works fine in the A8N-E in a single pair (at least mine does fine). Or Kingston's got a 512MB ValueRAM module that passes. You might want to DL the QVL from Asus here and scope it out.

I'd also look at the BenQ DVD burner that comes with the OEM Nero software. I got one and it seems a little nicer than my NEC 3520A that's in my work rig... quieter, for one thing.

nah, stick with what you got. That's a good price for a venice retail.

I think you're good to go

Higher latency doesn't affect an A64's performance nearly as much as it would affect a CPU without an integrated memory controller.

I don't think you'd notice the .5 difference in latency.

if your budget is 1000.00 why not get non value select ram. looks like you got a little more to spend if you wish.
