Dude, if its your want to play bf2 well its your responsbility not his. You pay for it not him. Your dad's job is to feed you, clothe you, give you a house to stay in, and keep you in school.

I mean, im 13 and im sick of my using my 2ghz p4 integrated graphics gateway notebook to game.
Ive been saving for 4 months, $600 so far. Birthday is in a couple of months, and im set.

I'm 14, and I'm sick of using my 2.8GHz Opty 144 and 7800GT. I've been saving up for 2 months, $300 so far. By the time vista rolls around I'll have about $1300, enough to ditch all this crashy windows crap and switch to mac.

Just download a Prank Joke Program that manipulates a virus or Blue Screen every once in a while and you should be ok. You'd be lying, but the system would still be fine. After you get what you need then sell the old computer or say its now fixed.

Just trying to save a system here. I've had a p3 1ghz 512mb rd ram for years now...finally moving to conroe soon.

This is hilarious, why does anyone care if he wants to break his computer? If I were you, I would get a job at an electronics store like frye's or somewhere that sells computers or better yet computer parts and STEAL everything you need. J/K, I just wanted to be part of this thread.

If he's this young and already looking to commit fraud, think what he'll be like later.

The quick, clean and simple method of rendering sensitive electronic equipment inoperable is to simply use a "spark gun" on it. The ones which you use to start stoves with.

Don't point fingers at me... I was kind of messing around with that idea you know..

as bad as a computer with .5 GB of ram and Nvidia 5200 plays Battlefield it still has value..

You say you want the same thing as me, well that'll cost about $900 (sense I'm guessing your keeping the monitor and input devices)

Right now you have earned $600.... So just ask you're dad if you can sell the current computer (someone might pay like $200) and then you just need another $100
______________________________

If you've really earned the money and really want the computer and really gave you're dad reasons as to why you want this thing and he still says no...

Well I guess you can consider that prank virus program (sounds reasonable)

But PLEASE don't ****** up a working computer and point fingers at me.

As a sixteen year old, I can say I understand the frustration of having an outdated computer. I am barely able to play older games with decent framerates on the family (six siblings) 2001 Sony Vaio equipped with a P4 Willemette 1.6 GHz, 512 MB DDR (PC2300), and a GeForce FX 5200 (I actually bought this to play C&C Generals and replace my stock 64 MB GPU). Even other tasks such as webbrowsing and watching videos is slow due to this.

It really is a bummer when you're still under the legal working age limit, but despite that, I have managed to save $1500+ since I was 13. Plus, I have my own '95 Toyota Tercel (not from my parents 😉) and will be paying my own insurance once I get my liscence. On top of this I pay my own cellphone bill and gym subscription to Planet Fitness. I also have my own 24" TV and Onkyo 5.1 speakers with an Xbox and 15+ games. Everything that I have is 100% mine; I earned it. The reason for being able to save so much money and buy so many things was that I did hard manual labor with my dad and some of his colleagues instead of sitting around and doing nothing.

I am not trying to brag or point fingers to myself, but I want you to realize that it takes hard work and sweat to get what you want in this world. Take this as advice and start mowing lawns, pushing carriages, bagging groceries, or whatever else you can do, and work your way to that new hardware. Not only will this give you a sense of achievement, but one of pride and knowledge that 100% of your machine was earned by you.

By the way, a large part of my possessions comes through smart shopping. I've always been the kind of person to search for deals high and low instead of merely paying MSRP. Because of this, I have undoubtedly saved myself over a thousand dollars and been able to get more for less.

ok... if i do the cat hair thing " im lucky i have a very furry cat and an even furrier dog" will my computer still run? will it have a retail value or will it be fried? anyone have a link for a blue screen?

what a selfish little brat. he talks about breaking computers as if they don't cost money. you don't have to play bf2, play some other game.

go work, make some money, and buy your own comp. Breaking the computer isn't the answer, and if you do break it I hope your dad figures it out, gives you a whooping, and make you pay to replace it with another computer that has crappy integrated graphics. Just to teach you a lesson.

I had to put up with the slow family computer until I got enough money to get my own that could actually perform decently. I'm sure many people here had to. So quite whining like a little kid and grow up!

By the way, most prebuilt computers made by dell, emachines, sony, hp, etc. have an overheat shutdown, so *IF* you put that cat hair in there with the hopes of it killing it by heat I doubt it will.

I don't think most computers actually have a thermal shutdown. People would get pissed if their PCs were shutting down randomly. Some may have a thermal alarm.

What's amazing is he came back, picked out the actual suggestions, and asked for more information.

I like the whooping idea. Maybe if his dad beats him, he can then blackmail him: new computer, or Social Services hears about it. At least he earns it that way.

You guys do realise this kid a job in real life... construction

long hours for little money and still his dad won't let him😉

Actually, no, we didn't since he didn't tell us that! My mind is completely changed! Fraud and destruction of property are perfectly okay if you "deserve it"!

Lots of people work long hours for little money. That doesn't make things like this right. Nobody forced him into the construction business (or if his father did "force" him into it, then he's got reasonable cause to hate his father, but he's still got the choice to just not do it).

Piss in the Powersupply while its on.

Nothing kills a computer or an idiot poster faster than a steady stream of urine into the PC while it's on.
