The following note was from pcboost.com's website. I am trying to add an additional 128MB to a system with
256MB. I only have one more slot available. There are three slots, with two already filled up with 128MB each.
I'm lost ... can I add the extra 128?!

---------------------

SOME OLDER PENTIUM II / III BASED SYSTEMS CAN NOT TAKE THE CURRENT 128MB MEMORY MODULES. IF YOUR SYSTEM CAN ONLY ACCEPT 128MB PER SLOT MAXIMUM - A TOTAL MAXIMUM MEMORY OF 256MB (2 MEMORY SLOTS) OR 384MB (3 MEMORY SLOTS) NONE OF THE CURRENT GENERATION 128MB MODULES WILL FUNCTION PROPERLY. FOR THESE SYSTEMS WE RECOMMEND YOU CONTACT THE SYSTEM MANUFACTURER DIRECTLY FOR MEMORY UPGRADES

What you need to do is make sure you purchase a low density DIMM, as described in my FAQ. Most of the PC133 SDRAM available today is high density stuff, meaning that it cannot all be addressed by older boards. Use Crucial's RAM selection system to check what DIMMs you can buy.
