I've been trying to do something like this as I've also put on a few pounds. I just recently had to rebuy a bunch of pants because I couldn't comfortably fit into my old ones anymore (went from waist size 30 to 32).

I, too love carbs. In fact it seems to be the only thing that fills me up. I can eat a ton of veggies or protein, but without some carbs, I would still be hungry. How were you able to eliminate or reduce carbs without being perpetually hungry, or overeating?

I did this early last year. It REALLY sucked the first week, but got easier after. Lots of snacking on veggies and protein sources helped, and drinking lots of water. I actually need to do this again, over the last 6 months or so I started eating more and more carbs. It's still nowhere near the amounts I ate before, but enough that I'm feeling that carb 'addiction' again, where nothing else really satisfies the hunger.

Im eating a crap-ton of veggies and to a lesser extent, fruits. I'm Italian so pasta and bread are in my blood. I never said this was easy but I'm not going to be a fatass or make myself buy an entirely new wardrobe of clothing to fit a fatter body.

I haven't eliminated carbs entirely but realistically I've cut out 80-90% of my usual intake. I've also turned to carb substitutes that are high in fiber which provides that bulk "I'm feeling full" feeling that makes you stop eating. I mentioned in a previous post that stuff like diced squash or zucchini cooked that way you like it makes a great substitute for where I would normally cook rice as a side dish. I usually steam it or sautee with some onions and garlic. A serving of this satisfies as much as servings of rice, pasta or bread.

OP good for you!

I do about the same. i found small meals is far better then having 1-2 huge meals. also snacking on fruits and veggies.
