But it?s a start, and it did a pretty good job of hiding a copper cylinder.

In this experiment the scientists used microwaves to try and detect the cylinder. Like light and radar waves, microwaves bounce off objects making them visible and creating a shadow, though it has to be detected with instruments.

Dont they know we have a treaty with the Romulans not to develop cloaking technology? This could mean war! :shocked:

In one TV episode, Rikers old captain is now an admiral and they go on a mission to retrieve a starship that was Starfleets covert attempts at cloaking technology. This mission is carried out on the Enterprise. Capt Picard becomes aware of the device and has the admiral arrested for breaking the treaty.
