Try and guess the name of this company

Triumph

Lifer
I thought this was interesting. This is from an interview with the director of company ABC, in a recent magazine who's name I'm withholding because it might give it away. I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out what exactly this company does, based on this description, and not its name, or the magazine where I read it.

Q:Please tell us about ABC. What is your title and what do you do?

A: ABC was formed two years ago to create a modern, focused player with a world class team that, combined with a diversified product line and brand portfolio supported by the most modern equipment and facilities, will exceed the exacting standards of our customers, employees, and investors. As lead director, I am actively involved in setting strategy, recruiting management and determining how to invest capital to maximize the company's potential.

So, 10 bucks of fake internet money to anyone who can guess what company this is, and what they actually do, based on that description.

The groups name is FGI. Freedom Group Inc. They own Bushmaster, DPMS Panther, Remington, Marlin, H&R/New England Firearms, and L.C. Smith.

When asked why they entered into the firearms business and be successful, their director George Kollitides replied " The US firearms industry has been extremely fragmented; the players are relatively small, and that inhibits operational, economic, and political leverage."

Pontifex, I bet you Googled part of the quote and ended up finding a post Triumph made on another forum.

That defeats the purpose!

But I won't lie, I googled it too.

meh...the quote could be for ANYTHING. no one would have guessed firearms so it's all pointless anyway.

There is a ABC financial that is in the mortgage/lending business

ABC isn't the company. he just used that as a placeholder.

ahhh, looks like people found it anyway.

I always fail at contests =(

That is the lamest description of their fucntion. It reminds me of the examples of what a poor mission statement was which I would see in my management classes.

That's the point. So anybody care to explain what exactly it is that they do?

They are purveyors of fine latex products. It is a fictitious company that George Costanza claims to work for in a few episodes of Seinfeld.
