Now I know the numbers are obviously manipulated.

How in the name of God is Carter second?

What did Clinton actually do to be ranked in the top spot? I don't recall him actually doing anything at all.

Interest rates dont matter to the population because "the economy was good." I love it when clinton fan boys(;)) actually attribute the economy to him.

Just more proof that having a high IQ DOES NOT automatically mean one has any common sense whatsoever.

The very fact that Carter is in the #2 spot is the most ridiculous thing I've seen all day. Hell, all week.

I'd rather have someone who can actually do the job of being President, who the f cares what they do in their private life? The part that is suck about Clinton is the perjury...

I'll second that. Carter was not a President. He was an embarassment.

Hey, don't get me wrong. Carter is a great guy, just a ridiculous president.

He is also evidence that a micro-manager in a macro managment job is almost always a complete disaster.

Good summary. Carter worked hard while he was in office. Yet his results and the state of the country at the time are the reasons he was such a poor CIC.

<< Curious who the democrats would put up against Bush next election? In the last election when Bush was depicted as a dolt, you put your best and brightest-Gore and he lost. Whether you admit the loss or not you CAN'T deny the democrats best and brightest against the republican depicted as a dolt, the election was 50/50. Next election Bush WON'T be the underdog...can you say landslide! >>

I think it will be another case of picking the lesser of two evils. In 2000, it was Bush (the idiot) and Gore (the liar). That turned out to be a toss up, which Bush eeked out a victory. The next election, we'll see Bush depicted as something else (depending on what negative the media wants to portray) and whichever democrat they can dig up to go against him. I think if the media tries to show Bush as an idiot again, it will end up in a landslide as you say, because I believe the majority of Americans actually are happy with the way Bush has handled himself to this point and don't consider him a complete fool. Of course, there's still time for him to totally screw something up and hand the democrats the election.

As far as Gore, I would hardly call him the best and brightest. He was the most well-known, but there were plenty of people in the democratic party who didn't want him as the candidate (including me) because of his association with the corruption in the Clinton administration and his BORING personality. In the last election I ended up voting for Gore because I didn't think Bush would be able to tie his shoes without Cheney showing him how (and yes it appears I was wrong as amazing as that is to me). Of course, my first choice was McCain, but the foolish republicans shot him down in the primary. There are several democrats who will probably be in the hunt for the nomination, but none have yet shown the ability to give Bush a serious run. Of course, it's a long way to go to the election and things tend to change alot in that amount of time.

<<US News and World Reports will publish a poll of the brightest, best informed, most prestegious and intellectually awake Americans, Ivy League Professors.>>

So a group of the most liberal, ivory tower intelectuals chose Clinton. There's a shocker. Professors anywhere, and especially in the League of IV (aka, the "Ivy" League), are skewed heavily towards the left.

Can someone explain to me what he accomplished other than being at the helm during an economic expansion?

What's sad is I took a look at the presidents listed (Clinton, Carter, Bush 1, Bush 2, Ford and Nixon) to come up with a list of what I would consider the best to worst...

But I kept putting them all on the bottom. I think I'd have to go with Sepen and select the empty leather computer chair in the number one spot.
