trusting refurb. hardware from neweggs

Me ? no I dont . I dont want to gamble and send back hardware that someone whose lifes goal is to overclock his cpu regardless of the damage it may to to same and or h/d , vid card , ect . Over volt your mo/bo and its just a matter of time....

I on the other hand have no problems do it and have bought cpu's, mother boards, and video cards from both place in question. HOWEVER I have had best luck with Chiefvalue so far in everything that has been a refub purchase has come complete in a full retail package even though it said it may not. Nothing I have gotten from Newegg has come like this.

Awesome deal, I'm in 😉 J/K, but remember that many ppl will say something what I just said.

Anyway, I personally trust refurbs from Newegg and Chiefvalue (same company anyway). As a poor college boy, I bought about 6 refurbs during last year, because prices were so hard to resist, and so far, none was regrettable. About 4 of them were vid card (ranged from 9800 Pro to 6800NU, X800 XL), 1 was mobo, and the rest were HDD. As I said, none disappointed me. All of them came with MFG warranty also. Maybe I'm lucky one, or maybe someone who got bad one is unlucky one, who knows.

No, too many people damage video cards, CPUs, mobos etc. by overclocking and/or overvolting, then RMA to newegg without admitting what they've done.

It's not worth my time to lose the use of the part, fill out the RMA, and take the box to the post office (then pay shipping).

Why do posters still think it's OK to post questions on ATHD?
I am suprised at the number of people that continue to do this or post their FS items here. Read the rules people!

Bad mobo from newegg here also. MSI Neo Platinum or whatnot 754 board. The USB didnt work out of the box. Frys was happy to exchange it though 😛 I will never trust a refurb mobo again, from anywhere.

i think there is always somethng wrong with newegg refurbs. even if they work for some people, there may be some problem they don't notice, but the person who returned it did.

I got a refurb motherboard from newegg with a dead ide2 slot.

i think this thread really belongs in OT.

but to answer your question, i have had pretty good luck with newegg refurbs (mobos).
