Oh my Vishnu this is amazing:

NJ.com - Trump 'unlikely' to pick Christie, according to sources

TRENTON — It is highly unlikely that Gov. Chris Christie will be Donald Trump's running mate, according to two sources who are advising the Trump campaign and who requested to remain anonymous.

Instead, the sources said that former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich is "the likely pick" to be the tycoon's choice for vice president.

...

The reason why Christie was asked to fill out the 100 plus pages of disclosure documents?

"They've been vetting him (because) it would be embarrassing not to be vetted," the source said.

...

Normally people running for president pick VPs that help cover some of their perceived weaknesses. In Trump's case this could involve picking, I don't know, an actual politician.

On the other hand, it'd be a very Trump-like move to pick someone possibly even less qualified than he is whom he can feel he has perfect authority over. And who better for that than his own daughter?

Remember that brief photo op when Palin was running and she went to some god awful foreign place and her hotness freaked out the foreign diplomat guys. Someone help me I remember this from 2008.
Imagine sending Ivanka to Saudi Arabia and watching them freak the fuck out

I'm still worried Rick Scott might show up again as a VP and Trump would actually win it.

Talk about a colossal mess.

So one option to combat a total and alarming lack of experience in politics, world affairs, and running a government is to add another person with the same complete lack of experience?
So maybe Hillary can run with Chelsea Manning and both teams can have themes. Let's let America choose between a total and alarming lack of experience in politics, world affairs, and running a government versus a total and alarming lack of ethics in politics, world affairs, and running a government.

That Cheney guy seemed to have a lot of influence at the time...

I think he meant it doesn't matter in a campaign. Historically AFAIK that is correct. VP picks have very little influence on election outcomes.

I find it funny how we now have two people who were never really a part of the GOP taking over the entire ticket. Out of everyone available, his daughter just so happens to be the best pick? I doubt he can get anyone reputable to run with him.

The GOP is in a tough spot with Trump, they're kind of stuck with him. I would have said it doesn't matter because Trump doesn't have a prayer of winning, but then I listened to the questioning of that fool that runs the FBI and realized that Hillary is guilty of gross negligence at the very least. And I'm one of the people that thought the whole email thing was a tempest in a tea pot. She conspired with others to circumvent the security rules, then lied about virtually every single aspect of it.

I'd vote for her based on nothing more than that pic.

That was also the Palin strategy. Spend a bunch of money to get dolled up for sexually frustrated conservatives.

I don't recall Palin doing that, I'll have to find the pics.
Looking a beautiful woman isn't being sexually frustrated, it's being a normal male.

As for Ivanka being VP, the job is waiting for the president to die, the village idiot could do it (and has).

History has turned on the VP- Andrew Johnson, TR, Truman, LBJ & Gerald Ford come to mind.

The notion that it was acceptable for Palin to be one old guy's heartbeat away from the presidency shows just how absurd modern Repubs really are. Imagine her in the oval office today, looney tune that she is.

I can't believe people are talking about possible vp picks for Trump as if there's a chance in hell he'd be elected. We're half a step away from GOP members being declared mentally incompetent. Sane America doesn't have to do a thing, the GOP is self destructing in front of our eyes.

Any of the names floating around sounds good to me. Namely: Gingrich, Christie, Sessions, and of course Ivanka Trump.

There's going to be a VP pick and I'm sure it's going to be a media spectacle. Trump's campaign is a twisted form of entertainment for a lot of people.

Trump will have to pull a real rabbit out of his hat over this VP thing.
Pull a John McCain stunt.
Pick someone so outrageous and nutty.
I'm guessing some retired old white loudmouth sports figure, or someone like an Arnold Palmer.
Just too bad Howard Cosell is dead.
Or maybe pick one of his spoiled brat kids as VP?
Or that sheriff that everyone hates. Old what's his name ???

I really have to give republicans credit. Keeping a straight face thru all this nonsense.
And never giving up believing that Donald, at some point within the next two weeks, and before their convention, will turn himself around and become... almost human. ;)

Hillary is no walk in the park, but at least she isn't Donald Trump.
And democrats only advantage is dealing with a potential crook rather than a proven full blown nutcase.

The really crazy thing here should Trump become president, is that we all know future crook president Trump would make crooked present day Hillary look like a fairy princess.
Can you imagine Donald Trump having the powers of the FBI, IRS and CIA at his fingertips to go after everyone on Donald's enemy hit list?
How long would take before impeachment charges would be brought against president Donald Trump?
Does anyone believe Donald would care if he broke the law or used the powers of government for his own benefit and retribution against those that dare cross Donald?
Does anyone actually believe Donald would not justify, in his own twisted mind, breaking every law there was to break as president?

I give it a month. Two at most.
Donald would break so many laws our heads would spin. And the media would have a nervous breakdown trying to keep up with all of Donald's abuses of power.
Probably to the point they would just give up trying.
The media would just say ON THERE HE GOES AGAIN. THAT CRAZY OLD PRESIDENT DONALD. SENDING OUT THE FBI TO INTIMIDATE ONE OF HIS OWN BECAUSE THEY DARE SAY SOMETHING NEGATIVE AGAINST DONALD.
Or sending out the IRS to audit every democrat in congress.

Is there any proof at all, anywhere, that Donald would or has ever respected the law?
Or that president Donald Trump would not think his being president as his card Blanche for doing whatever he so desired, whenever he so desired?
Remember what Richard Nixon believed?
If the president does it, it is not illegal.
That sounds a lot like Donald Trump thinking to me.

These are times when I do so hope that Donald is elected president.
That sadistic human nature for witnessing that bloody train wreck as it happens.
As they say... what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.
Maybe gong thru a Trump presidency, and the impeachment, would in the end make us a stronger nation?
Either that, or it might actually kill us.
