Why didn't you create this thread in 2011?

You have a point. A more accurate thread title would be:

The ban that fucks over innocent muslims to prevent radical islamist terrorists entering the US that excludes the countries terrorists who have attacked the US actually come from but where Trump has business interests

I hope the OP updates it soon.

Trump/Bannon & fans want another 9/11 to boost their popularity, and this is just their way of encouraging it.

Funny how their talking points always seem to have memes ready to go with it and everyone seems to repeat said talking point at the same time. I guess useful idiots will be useful idiots.

Here's a story from 2013 about the 2011 "ban".
http://www.politico.com/story/2015/04/iraqi-refugee-us-refugee-program-restarts-117318

You'll note that there was a pause in accepting applications because of security concerns, you know because violence and stuff.

Last June, as Islamic State militants gained territory in Iraq, the U.S. pulled out staffers in Baghdad who were interviewing the applicants. The decision put thousands of Iraqis in limbo just as violence in the country was once again soaring and anyone with ties to the United States was in even greater danger.

For some more background, read the following.

It's becoming pretty clear that casket makers and funeral homes are going to thrive under a Trump presidency because the left and especially the progressive left is going to put themselves into early graves. This type of hysteria based on fake news and "feelings" isn't good for you. You're going to drive up the cost of health care for everyone before you get interred too and we can't have that.

It makes sense if you think like Trump.

Trumpster theory is that many of these refugees are here to plan attacks. Lets say that he actually believes that, and wants these attacks to happen - by that logic, this ban should immediately precipitate many attacks from these terrorist refugees.

Unfortunately for Trump, at this point he appears to merely be encouraging white supremacist attacks. Luckily for him the US media doesn't care about white supremacist terrorism, so there isn't much focus... but he has so far failed to provoke the attacks he thought would happen.

Rich. Take your own advice because we're not the ones linking to made up stats, conspiracy theories and blatant lies from unknown bloggers - it's you and your Trumpet muppets who are regurgitating fake news as facts. Delusional moron.

I just find it funny that people are so close minded that they can only see whats on TV. If you're butt-hurt over temporarily not allowing immigrants from a few Muslim countries that are having large conflicts, why haven't you been advocating for immigrating more people from other countries?

How about the top 50 deadliest cities to live in? http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/50-most-dangerous-cities-world-7262615

Protip: ~80% of them are in latin america. But fuck latin america amirite? It's all about those poor Syrian refugee's, screw everyone else.

The ISIS's white counterparts in Bannon&co both know that radicalist recruiting for both their respective orgs only benefit from this sort of thing. Same as the sentiments they share about conservative values.

The reality of the matter was presented in the posts preceding yours. Not a great move to further demonstrate alt-right faith in alt-facts.

Strawman galore. Filled with a couple of other fallacies too I see.

It's odd to post a White House link that proves my point, clearly you didn't read it. Feel free to post relevant passages, though.

It's OK If A Republican Violates The Constitution.

(The 2nd amendment is the only one the really counts anyway)

Soon to come:

It's OK If A Republican Uses Lots of Executive Orders

It's OK If A Republican Massively Increases The Debt

Land of the Free
Home of the Brave
It seems less so with each passing day.
This is merely a 3 month moratorium to review our vetting process for the exact same "Muslim-majority" countries that Obama's administration identified as "countries of concern" and restricted their access to the Visa Waiver Program a year ago....oh noes!

The Left has gone insane.

Effectively saying:

It's OK a Democrat to use lots of Executive Orders...but not Republicans.

It's OK a Democrat to use massively increase the debt...but not Republicans.

Um... did you read your link?

The only news report that we could find that referred to a six-month ban was a 2013 ABC News article that included this line: “As a result of the Kentucky case, the State Department stopped processing Iraq refugees for six months in 2011, federal officials told ABC News — even for many who had heroically helped U.S. forces as interpreters and intelligence assets.”

Here is the link to that ABC article too.

http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/al-qa...terrorists-country-refugees/story?id=20931131

And this.

At a September 2011 congressional hearing, Sen. Susan Collins asked Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano if there had been a hold placed on Iraqi visa applications.

COLLINS: “So my question is, is there a hold on that population until they can be more stringently vetted to ensure that we’re not letting into this country, people who would do us harm?”

NAPOLITANO: “Yep. Let me, if I might, answer your question two parts. First part, with respect to the 56, 57,000 who were resettled pursuant to the original resettlement program, they have all been revetted against all of the DHS databases, all of the NCTC [National Counter Terrorism Center] databases and the Department of Defense’s biometric databases and so that work has now been done and focused.”

I get that later on they are trying to say it was not a ban, but a hold up until they could build a better procedure, but that seems like semantics. I personally worry that this is not temporary, but you saying that its bullshit is not true. Napolitano was asked a direct question and answered, "yep". Your link does not support your claim.

Apparently you know more about it than the Chief of Staff. Watching Priebus on Meet the Press yesterday was painful. He was changing his mind every 2-3 minutes on who it applied to, and how long it might last.
