His jet appears to be a good analogy to where he is.
The plane sits waiting for repairs that do not appear to be scheduled. This plane appears to be sad from lack of maintenance and storage.

Typical of the former President when everyone was going to smaller more efficient jets he went to a larger less efficient jet and now prices of parts is soaring. He also lied about the jets engines power output because everything needs to be bigger.

Not to crap on your thread but does anyone really care about trump anymore?

I skip pretty much any article about him unless it’s about the law getting closer to actually prosecuting him. Otherwise I don’t care what he says, what he thinks, who he supports.

Am I the only one here like that?

There is a reason airlines and the military store their planes in CA, AZ, and NM. Idleness and moisture are a bad combo.

Presumably it will be kept in this state of purgatory until it falls apart, much like its owner.

It is a fun article and see above regarding the former Presidents legendary cheapness.

Like some posters here, like pc, nOonE, weblooker, he has taken the role of just background noise. He is louder than them, but it's still just irrelevant background noise.

I just read the article. I didn't realize Trump bought the Paul Allen 757. He had a massive hanger @ Boeing Field in Seattle. When people would arrive @ Boeing field they thought that the Allen hanger was a UPS or FedEx sorting facility. Pilots would say the Allen 757 is back or going out. The 757 has oversized Rolls Royce engines. A hot rod of a plane that climbed as well as some business jets. Cruises @ mach .82.

I kind of wish Cohen would shut the fuck up. I don't want to hear that Trump is going to have a financial proctological exam. I want to hear Trump is being indicted.

He won’t be indicted simply because we do not jail the losing party.
Have an epic fine is more likely.

Regardless of how modified it is, the 757 is almost starting to become a thing of the past, replaced in the public cargo and public transport industry by 767 or newer. The 767 has a lot of pilot improvements. Furthermore, oil costs are rising and the 757 takes nearly the same amount of fuel of 767, 777, or 787. It was never designed to be owned for personal use. Business maybe, but cargo or passenger, definitely.

By the way, he is planning to use it in 2024. Citadel Completions claim that they were given the responsibility to do the maintenance work, only after they can find a missing spare engine that has been lost after it went into storage. They claim they are going to source it from elsewhere.

You do know that the engines are not "oversized" nor is there anything special about Rolls Royce engine on a 757-200.
It's simply another high byass turbo-fan and most of the later 757-200's sold to airlines around the word probably had the Rolls Royce engine.
I've flown on these things. It's just another airliner.
Trumps is just another old 757
- First flew in 1991 for Sterling Airlines, a now defunct Danish low-cost carrier.
- A couple years later, it found its way into the fleet of Mexico’s TAESA, also a now defunct airline.
- In 2006 it ended up in the hands of Vulcan Aircraft, Paul Allens taxi service.
In 2011, Trump bought it and trumpified the interior and painted it.

I wish I could afford to have a gold plated 757 just sitting around while I use my second airplane to travel. The life styles of the rich and famous sounds difficult.....

I've been in empty 757s that have pegged the vertical speed indicator, which maxes out at 6,000 feet per minute. We routinely tokeoff and climbed out steeper than the F-16s that shared our runway. The 757 is an awesome aircraft. The problem is the things that make it have great performance, also make it not as efficient as the A321 or 737s. It's also designed and built more like a widebody, so the maintenance cost is higher.

It's not oversized for the mission, but it is very much a higher thrust engine that is typical for that size aircraft. It has 15% more thrust/pound than a 737-10.

The 757 was designed for high, hot and short airfields and for medium range flights, which is the reason for it's larger than normal wing and engines. There are still city pairs that only a 757 can operate without load limit. The problem is, the things that make an aircraft good for those routes, makes it not great for others missions, which is why neither Airbus or Boeing have launched a true replacement.

It's really cute that CNN thinks the repairs would only reach into the "high six-digits."

At 30 years, it'll be in need of its 5th "heavy-C" check, which by itself runs well over $2M before you have any findings. Typical findings on a 4th HC can easily cost another $2M, with a 5th HC likely having even more. Plus nothing you do on RB211s is cheap, at the airline I used to work at the RB211 cost almost 3x to maintain as the airframe.

How about 757's with the P&W engines?
From what I understand, trade some reliability for better fuel consumption.

I believe that attitude allowed him to get elected and oversee the most corrupt administration in history.

He is still capable of causing a great deal of damage to the country based on all the still brainwashed maggats.

I don't directly have any experience with the PW 757 engines. I've heard they are cheaper to maintain and I think their name plate thrust is slightly lower. Not completely sure about fuel burn.

The CF6s on our 767s were far cheaper to maintain, but GE was late to the 757 game and ended up never making an engine for it.

I'm surprised he didn't figure out a way to have the taxpayers refurbish it during his term...
He’ll have his MAGA’s pay for it through grifting, count on that. He hasn’t spent hardly any of the $200 mil he recently grifted.

Ugh, I’m getting tired of Trump threads. Can we just let that man pass onto obscurity? I wouldn't if they weren’t always showing up in the 'new posts' list.
