2018 was a huge disaster for the GOP all over the place. I'd be relatively skeptical about Trump's non-Hillary political instincts.

Younger black voters have been looking kind of ambivalent about voting for Biden in polling. Do we think these events change their minds especially if Biden picks a black woman (not-Kamala) for his running mate? Is this likely to help the GOP carry states like Georgia where they almost lost the governorship or Florida with a big AA population where Biden is making inroads with seniors?

I am strongly opposed to the violence, rioting, and looting occurring with these protests, but at the same time, I am utterly appalled by the irresponsible divisiveness and outright tone deafness of the President's leadership. At a time when people are upset over extrajudicial killings of citizens by govt agents, the President of the federal govt is threatening citizens with more extrajudicial killings if they don't toe the govt line.
These are fucked up times. The Trump administration, confronted with its own incompetence, is devolving into a reign of terror.

The answer to that is 100% yes. He literally does not give a shit about anyone other than himself. If a race war was the only alternative to him losing the election he would take it in a second. If you had to die, if I had to die, if any number of his supporters had to die because the alternative is him losing, he would be fine with it. He’s a psychopath, empathy and morality for him do not exist.

Agreed, but by grouping the protestors in with those exploiting the situation to loot, it shifts the pendulum of empathy in favor of law and order, which defeats the entire purpose.

Protestors want to damage police cars or property or get in the face of the police, they have every right to and should.

Start looting, setting fire to local businesses and placing the lives of first responders and other protestors in danger, you’ve just lost control of the narrative.
 
Just now Donald Trump is doing his live press conference. And my enjoyment was turning it off. I don’t even care to watch or listen to this buffoon. So to everyone I suggest, just turn him off. It’s an invigorating experience. You should try it.

What is factually wrong with saying "when the looting starts, the shootings start"? Could it have been phrased differently? Yep. Once protests become violent loot fests, things get escalated by the civil authorities or private individuals.

I wasn’t aware that looting meant a free for all for law enforcement to kill people at will.

I’m not worried though, the “freedom fighters” will show up to fight back against a tyrannical government. If there ever was a time to show up I would say the president calling for the shooting of looters without due process would probably be it.
