Real Christians are the ones speaking against people demonstrating hate, especially when they do it in the name of God. Jesus gave us explicit and tacit knowledge as well as many examples in the form of his roles as he demonstrated how to work for a living, how to speak to people with respect even though you might not agree with them and how to not go around trying to put the finger one someone who's doing something wrong when you are doing the same or worse. All judgement is reserved for Jesus as his is the righteous judge.

Before you head out to hate on the LBGT's and other minority groups you'd best read Matthew 7 and keep it in context. Modern religion spews hatred of anyone who will not agree with their hypocritical and bigoted views. Nope can't target one group over another group because it's discrimination which the Civil Rights Act of 1963 Title VII prohibits. Each and every amendment to Title VII applies as well and you cannot discriminate against someone for their religion period. I think you need to learn a thing or two about context, that chapter doesn't forbid judging sin. I would never advocate "hating on" anybody, that is wrong. Read up about Ireland's history with sectarian violence; people getting kneecapped or killed ostensibly because of their religious beliefs.

If there is a command in the Bible that justifies sectarian violence (even in a specific and limited context), that will be used by "believers" (ie. the same sort who claim to be Muslim and commit violence in the name of Islam) to justify their nutjobbery.

I will not promote homosexuality nor will I condemn people who practice it because Jesus warned against it. I can still have respect for them even though I do not agree with their lifestyle and I can speak out against the act. Big religion condemns the people which they are not supposed to do. Jesus said to love your neighbor as yourself but that is not the big religion way is it? The bible also says that the love of money is the root of all evil and big religion's pursuit of the world's wealth is in your face. Prosperity preaching is not a biblical doctrine yet they all seem to be pedaling it.

Jesus was humble as were his disciples yet churches today build monstrous buildings, give their pastors enormous parsonages and private jets when that is not the appropriate use of God's money which is supposed to help the poor and spread the gospel of salvation through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. I cannot condone religion's hatred of people and they will never reach the lost with their message of hate. This is a prime example of what Jesus called men of fierce countenance filled with hate calling evil good and good evil.

I will stand in opposition to religion and anyone who peddles hate toward people of any kind even the LBGT's. I can be kind and have respect for them even though I do not support their lifestyles. I can have compassion and respect for a woman who's had an abortion even though I do not condone the act if it was the result of sexual promiscuity rather than for a bona fide medical emergency because I don't want to be judged for it myself. This is why people no longer respect Christians or religion and I cannot blame them because I see like they do.
