Yeh, by all means we must show the world how shiny and bigly big our stockpile of nukes are. That Trump likes to carry a big stick to intimidate and threaten to get his way but also to show off to the neighbors what a complete place setting of nice nukes looks like doesn't surprise me at all.

This all goes hand in hand with Trump being a bully and a chicken hawk. In an ensuing gang fight, he'd be the guy in the back of the crew yapping his mouth off with threats and bluster but runs away at the first swing of a chain.

The U.S. currently has:
  • No reprocessing capacity to extract plutonium
  • No uranium enrichment capacity
  • No plutonium production reactors in service
We'll get right on that Mr. President.
Yes, because they can't use the material from existing nukes to remanufacture more modern ones.

You seem to act as if more nukes is going to make the world safer.
It's worked for over 60 years to keep the United States safer from threats against us by the Soviet Union and Red China. As a doctrine MAD and nuclear deterrence have proven effective.

We'll have the biggest and the best nukes. So good. Amazing and impressive nukes. You'll get tired of using them.

I never get tired of using the nuke between my legs.

I've tried to be upbeat about this election, but Trump and company keep making it harder by the day.

the best ending to the human race is trump nuking the planet. That would literally be the cherry on top of this thing we have built. How cool it would be to not only live during cheap energy and all the modern creature comforts but also get to witness the downfall of humankind. So cool.

Of course not. Russia and Red China and Iran and North Korea are our friends! I would say that the Soviet Union is our friend too, but Reagan and Bush 1 put an end to them.

dude, you recently voted with the Russian governments best interests, yet you lump them in with China and North Korea. you seem to be more than a little confused about Trump's position on Russia.

nice dodge, but it still doesn't explain your own contraction, is Russia friend or foe?

i do realize it must really bother you to know that your vote was influenced by Russia, but you can't change the past.

Not without a lot of work, they can't. Do you seriously think reusing plutonium from old weapons is like swapping GPUs between Windows PCs? Oh, right. Based on the general level of understanding (of anything) evidenced by your oh-so-numerous posts, you might very well... Well, here's news flash: you can't. And instead of just saying "oh, yeah?" or asking me "why not?", you should trying spending a little more time Googling and a little less time posting such articulate and meaningful comments here...

Ah, the false "St. Ronny" narrative. So hear-warming. Especially during the holidays.

Might as well just flush $billions down the toilet. Newer shiner Nukes add no value to the older ones whose only useful purpose is to scare potential enemies. You can't have Single Payer Healthcare, but can have useless Weapons. Sad.

Trump on Twitter...

"The United States must greatly strengthen and expand its nuclear capability until such time as the world comes to its senses regarding nukes"

I posted that in the Trump Twitter thread.
I don't even get the tweet.
It makes no sense -- we need to be senesless with nukes until the world stops being senseless about nukes?
Somebody explain it to me!!! PLEASE!!!

The world needs more nukes... why?

Like others have said, at least we know this program will be in good hands

No contraction for me, Russia and China are our enemy. Plain and simple.

Yes, I reminisce about the time I lol'd when I first heard that line about when in case of a nearby nuclear blast you're to stay calm, crawl under your desk, face away from the blast, put your head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye. :D
