Trump to penalize immgrants needing public support

In case anyone is interested here’s the text from the poem on the Statue of Liberty, one of America’s most treasured monuments:

"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Now try and square that with our current administration.

Remember this when in a few years conservatives are pretending they never supported Trump.

The poem and the statue are two separate things. What are you asking me to retract, the truth about the intent behind the Statue of Liberty? The sculptor always intended for it to be a monument to freed black slaves.

And they were deeply entwined when to poem was the first thing read at the exhibition to raise money for the pedestal. It's been that way ever since.
