Our flag being at half mast during Trump's inauguration is to me Jimmy Carter's last and final Flying Finger of Fuck You Traitor Trump. That Carter's half mast flag becoming Democracy's overwatch of Trump's alleged "swearing in ceremony" is karma served ice cold and a slice of justice being served on Trump in his "finest hour".
Fuck that racist toddler. Thank you Jimmy

Trump: - "The Democrats are all ‘giddy’ about our magnificent American Flag potentially being at ‘half mast’ during my Inauguration,”

“Giddy?” Well, to be honest, I hadn’t given it much thought. But now that you’ve brought it up, I’m joining every citizen who DOESN’T hate America in finding this circumstance to be satisfactory. Plus ...It's not "half mast" it's half-staff you idiot. Our flag should fly at half staff for the next 4 years.

President Carter has, ironically, performed one final service for his country. Hopefully Carter's having a hearty laugh right now.

Sooner rather than later a decision will be made about where the flag flies for him. What will be the right decision?

While Trump is in office the flag should be flown upside down. When he dies everyone shall be required to double the height of their flagpole and fly the flag at the new height in celebration.

My flag is currently flying at half-staff. I have considered flying it thusly for the next 4 years, even though it's not really appropriate.

I've also considered this. I flew my flag upside down for the first month after Dubya won the 2000 election. I had a neighbor tell me he was going to come take it down...I told him if he did...they'd never find his body. No one bothered my upside-down flag.

I can almost guarantee Trump will order the flag at the capitol to be raised for the 20th. Tradition and respect mean nothing to him.

I also see his supporters saying it's he right thing to do...without hesitation.

How can he do that when he won't have the authority to do so, until he is sworn into office around 12pm on the 20th?

Which is moot. He only cares about during the inauguration
The event goes on all day after he is sworn in.
  • Swearing-In Ceremony
  • President’s Room Signing Ceremony
  • Inaugural Luncheon
  • Review of the Troops
  • Presidential Parade and Reception
  • Inaugural Balls
Maybe he will suddenly develop class, and a sense of tradition.

Wait until noon.

It starts at noon, he still won't be President till alter, after he takes the oath of office. But you serously think his first offical act as President, in the middle of his innogeration proceedings, will be to have the flags raised to full staff?

I don't know, he has named dozens of things as his "first" official act. I guess we will see, but I bet he raises the flag before the balls.

Given his childish narcissism, his uncontrollable urge to force things his way no matter what moral, ethical and lawful restraints he crushes underfoot along with his insatiable thirst for unrestrained control and power, I think there's a pretty good chance it's near the top of his pissed off to-do list once he's given the ability to do so.

His everything, his reason for existing is his efforts at conjuring and expanding an image, a hollowed out hoax persona he's constantly crafting and trying to maintain to hide his faults, his failures and his depressing insecurities that keeps dogging him. That half-staffed flag is anathema to this never ending quest of his.

Methinks it irritates him to no end that it hurts that fragile egotistical image he's so hyper-sensitive about projecting. I'm pretty sure it's eating away at him, just like every other thing that works against his need to be adored, feared and respected.

IDK, it's just what I've noticed about that moron over the years he's been incessantly exploiting that nationwide con game he's been pulling.

If the American flag waving in a gentle breeze is what democracy is all about, then the flag that best describes Trump should be a Confederate Stars and Bars on a field of white made in North Korean sweat shops using children as their primary workers with little Swastikas alternating with little red Hammer & Sickles replacing the stars bordered by fake gold fringe designed by Melania flying from a gold paint sprayed over galvanized pipe with rocket fins and a Cybertruck model or Disco Ball at the top. A South African Apartheid era flag will fly beneath it with Elon being the exclusive Gov't contractor for manufacturing it all.

Now I see the other former presidents besides the syphilitic orange menace in those pictures. Did he not show up?

I would expect him not to.
