Carter obviously hated the orange monkey. But he still respects the office and would never had made request that he doesn't attend. But the bingo card far bigger than just those poll options.

I truly don't think Carter actually "hated" anyone. As far as I can tell, he was a true Christian . . . just a good, good man who never abandoned his ideals for political exigencies.
As opposed to those fake Christian cultists

I'm not sure about anything on the list.
One choice is missing though.
Which is to somehow make himself the center of attention / make it all about him. He's a narcissist.

I was mystified when he lost reelection and to such a douche.

Presidential elections were held in the United States on November 4, 1980. Republican nominee, former Governor of California Ronald Reagan, defeated incumbent Democratic President Jimmy Carter in a landslide victory.

But this last election has me pessimistic, which is a tough one for a confirmed optimist.

I don't disagree with the guy who suicide bombed Trump Tower (well, he tried) in Vegas the other day.

He said in one letter that the U.S. was “terminally ill and headed toward collapse.”

See? What did I say. He's crying that the Flag will be at half mast on inauguration day. It's all about Trump...

Our flag being at half mast during Trump's inauguration is to me Jimmy Carter's last and final Flying Finger of Fuck You Traitor Trump. That Carter's half mast flag becoming Democracy's overwatch of Trump's alleged "swearing in ceremony" is karma served ice cold and a slice of justice being served on Trump in his "finest hour".

No, it's just coincidence, Carter was too decent for that type of behavior. And certainly didn't "time" his death.

And Trump is not the first, Nixon had the flag at half mast for his inauguration in 1973, due to the death of Truman. So Trump is lying again, as usual. He just can't help it...

And then I see nonsense like this:

Gawd...I hope the narcissistic orange menace is turned away from the funeral...on camera.

This funeral is about respecting and remembering a great human who just happened to have served as President almost 50 years ago...NOT about giving King Donnie more air time.

Don't mind me. It's just my personal take at the symbolism of what these two historical events mean to me. It's also me venting at other things that I see as Trump escaping justice by his exploiting racism, misogyny, lies, deception and disseminating misinformation and disinformation to easily duped citizenry that voted for him based on such incessantly repeated duplicative nonsense.

The little bitch has already started.

Trump complains that US flags will be half-staff on his inauguration day

WASHINGTON, Jan 3 (Reuters) - President-elect Donald Trump complained on Friday that American flags would still be lowered to half-staff in honor of the late President Jimmy Carter during Trump's Jan. 20 inauguration.
President Joe Biden ordered flags lowered to half-staff for 30 days from the day of Carter's death on Dec. 29, as is custom when a U.S. president dies.
Trump, who has announced plans to attend Carter's memorial service in Washington on Jan. 9, took issue in a Truth Social post on Friday with the flags remaining in the mourning position during his swearing-in ceremony.

"The Democrats are all 'giddy' about our magnificent American Flag potentially being at 'half mast' during my Inauguration," Trump said, employing a term frequently used for the lowered position when the flag is on a ship.
"They think it’s so great, and are so happy about it because, in actuality, they don’t love our Country, they only think about themselves," Trump said.
Trump said that due to Carter's death last week the American flag would "for the first time ever during an Inauguration of a future President, be at half mast."

"Nobody wants to see this, and no American can be happy about it. Let’s see how it plays out," he said.
White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre said the White House had no plans to reconsider the decision.

With Trump, it is not the case that we are running out of things to laugh at. We're just running out of energy for laughter. Trump is the bad joke growing stale.

I'm just grateful that Carter has been a positive force in American life ever since his own inauguration. I once sent him an e-mail of congratulation in 2002 for his Nobel Peace Prize, and he was not above sending me a polite and friendly response.

To get a polite and friendly response from Trump, I would have to shame myself by saying anything positive about him. For that matter, I would not want to have any sort of attention from him.

Trump is correct I don't want to see the flag at half staff for Carter. Because Carter is dead and the worst person to ever be President is still alive and getting ready for a second term. I would have much preferred the flag at half staff for Trump being dead.

The family should not permit him to attend.

Since his family would be in the best position for Carter's wishes, I am going to assume that Carter wish was Trump would be permitted to attend. McCain left specific instructions that he didn't want the Orange Monkey at his funeral.
