What I would like to know is why, when to every sane employee of the American government is perfectly aware it was a coup attempt, Trump not only walking around free but is also campaigning for President. As far I am concerned he should be campaigning for President of Guantanamo Bay.

There is a lot of talk lately that the coup is an ongoing effort. The speculation is that the reason there are holdups of key positions across the government and especially the military promotions is to keep them open for Trump so he appoint "friendlies" as he throws his political rivals in jail. The last part he and others have specifically said they would do. If you believe the lying internet, The Heritage Foundation has a pretty well-documented plan on what that will entail.

Can the families of the fallen officers on Jan 6 sue Trump in civil court for the death of their family member?

It’s one of those things I cannot figure out and I may not remember it well.
My memory has a picture of documents seized at mar a lardo and they were sitting NEXT TO A PHOTO COPIER!
Now I can’t find that image so maybe my memory is wrong.

Edit found it and why is there a photocopier in that place other than to copy documents? Seems like an odd place to keep one minus the State Secrets.

I wouldn't be surprised if the GOP still is not planning a coup. I think they know the voting is stacked against them (due to their policies and shitty behavior..things they can change), but if you "cant beat, cheat em", its the new GOP way.

Given the array and severity of charges against him convictions next year seem real likely. It's not a shock that they'd still back him because they've made their bed.
