Trump supporters saw Declaration of Independence tweets as an attack

Yeah, yeah, it's BuzzFeed, but it's still priceless.

And to be fair, some of these people deleted their tweets after realizing what they were objecting to. But it's telling (and a bit hilarious) that they thought reciting the Declaration of Independence was an attack on Trump. If you're seriously lashing out at this, you might want to rethink your political values... you're either super-sensitive to Trump's deeply negative public image (and are validating it, in a roundabout way) or are genuinely cheering on an attack against democracy.

Although it would be incredibly stupid to actually attack anyone for doing this, I imagine this tweeting is in fact response to Trump's presidency.

Well, yes, and it's incredibly relevant. There's a good reason why it comes to mind when watching our current administration do its thing.

Well, this certainly lends credence to anyone who has suggested/stated outright that Trumpublicans (meaning specifically Trump worshippers) by and large are uneducated simpletons.

NPR does this every. single. year. on the 4th. They read it out, line by line, in different voices.

But I guess Snowflakes will only ever assume they are the center of (negative) attention.

Well THAT makes for one awkward moment on the internet.

Props to our Declaration, and I'd respect its application today. Though we are stronger together, I respect people's rights to lose their minds. To shrink back from each other as they feel is necessary. A country still holding the true American spirit would leave an open hand to help them to come back in from the cold.

Divisions can still be handled through respect, and honor. It should be our struggle to strive towards and maintain a common decency.

We have the second amendment now to protect us from dictatorship from within, right? Oops

Sounds like a bunch of people have guilty consciences, if'n'ya ask me...
Or finally feeling as embarrassed as we've been telling them should all along? OR maybe they convinced themselves of how ignorant they are (where progressives failed to) and concluded maybe they should no longer talk about things they don't understand? *fingers crossed to a painful degree... could be my arthritis speaking but it's probably the intensity of my wishful thinking*
