So true. They've also got the Nazis and the KKK cheering Trump on. What a morally and ethically ethnically pure concerned group of patriotic citizens they are. One big happy family that are all led around by their nose rings by a narcissistic pathological liar who openly admires dictators like Putin, Kim Jong Un and Duterte.

And I don't believe for a second that things can't get worse than that.

Yes this example illustrates my post in another thread quite nicely. The white "nationalists" are coming together from both countries. They are joined in their goal of destabilization and rebuilding from the ashes.

Indeed. He has given license for the states who want to pollute to do so.


The better states won't pollute anymore even if Trump allows them because they are full of mostly decent people. West Virginia, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, etc etc will all be ****ed tho. We all pay for the air pollution but the dumping that goes on in those sorts of states is even more heinous.

Trade war: Mexico pork tariff threats push Iowa losses to $560 million

Iowa pork producers already dealing with a 25 percent tariff on U.S. pork exports to China could face another trade hit, with Mexico considering a 20 percent tariff on hams and pork shoulders.

Growing trade worries have cut pork prices in recent weeks, costing Iowa producers about $560 million, said Dermot Hayes, an Iowa State University economist.

Mexico is the largest export market for U.S. pork, based on volume.

Mexico bought $1.5 billion of U.S. pork last year, followed by China-Hong Kong at nearly $1.1 billion.

The tariffs are "potentially devastating news for Iowa’s pig farmers and the rural Iowa economy," said Gregg Hora, president of the Iowa Pork Producers Association.

That some Dems favor protectionism isn't new. That they'd be the prevailing view of the party, should it gain power, of this point is less likely I think if still uncertain. Either way if the Rs stand around let Trump go full trade war and mortally wound the ag economy they're are going to be changes. Maybe some independents run and win.
 
These retaliatory tariffs help encapsulate the problem with Trump in a nutshell. He's a short-sighted, simplistic man trying to tackle an inherently complex political situation. He thinks he can fix everything with a snap of his fingers, but it's more likely to end up spectacularly broken. And when it does, he'll still point fingers at everyone else except himself.

The time for protectionism has come and gone. The global economy has been set. We should have done something about it while American capitalists were selling the soul of this country to China for the price of a piece of pie. Instead we did nothing and chose corporate profits over our own citizens. Again.

So now all Trump can do is cause damage with a trade war among allies - and so down that road he goes like an inept bumbling fool, taking the country with him, while his base laughs and giggles at it all, oblivious in their ignorance.

No wonder the Russians wanted him elected, and Trumps treasonous base cheers him on. His major foreign economic achievement is starting a trade war with our biggest allies. You can't make this shit up folks.
