Thank god you are here to cry tears of jealousy over the wealthy while demanding they support taxtakers and other assorted leeches (i.e., Democratic voters).

It's so good to know there are people like you that think someone who is a danger to the general population like myself should be out working in the general population. If I end up killing someone would you be willing to take full responsibility for it?

I am not " jealous " I am frightened for a young man disabled through no fault of his own being left without even minimal support or protections.

Keep in mind it wasn't so very long ago that Doctors advised parents of kids like mine to surrender them to institutions, places funded by taxpayers. I kept my child at home, still have him here at age 30. The SSDI he receives via his retired father wouldn't be enough to rent a modest room & pay for basic food.

We are not " leeches" we are American citizens facing a disability beyond our control & the help this young man receives is based on the earnings & SS payment record of his parents.

Excellent attempt at reasoning with a member who comes across as oblivious and contemptuous.

I try to remain civil in my discussions with all. IMHO, dipping into the well of hate just creates more of it. Many Republicans are compassionate people who also understand math. The cost of institutional care versus keeping disabled children at home & then supplying community support & care once the parents have died is huge!

I don't disagree. It feels more like Cons would rather throw them in jail.

I pray this doesn't become the case. At any rate, I have earned more than my ex husband and my son's SSDI would be increased after my death under the current system. It would not be enough to live a lavish lifestyle but would allow him to rent a decent room & buy food as well as make payments for Medicare part B.

Clothing and other essentials could then be purchased via a modest trust that would revert back to the state when he passes on if there is any money left.

This is a severely under-noticed consequence of cutting benefits for mental health programs and facilities. It puts far more pressure on law enforcement to address such things, and it's not fair or ideal for anyone.

Rich Republicans step over the homeless all the time. Doesn't bother 'em enough to be willing to part with enough cash in a collective fashion to do anything about it.

Yeh, sure, sux to be them, but FYGM anyway. Greed & lust for power rule their minds.

Coupled with privitized prisons, seems to fit a Con agenda well.
