Trump running out of (gasp) money?!

Shows either someone in Trump's campaign was skimming money, his campaign was so horribly mismanaged that they were being scammed/suckered by outsiders, or something so crazy that it'll be hilarious to see where this goes. No wonder Lewandowski was fired. What a shit show.

Well then due to the damage that having an ineffective communications staff, no advertising, no ground game, and no strategy is having I'm sure he's going to be cutting that check any day now.

Any day now... right?

Hello?

Whenever he'd need to, he would? It would be rational to assume Trump campaign would know when to do that for their own self benefit? Hello?

It's the latter. Make money, increase the worth of his brand. Actually winning the presidency was never part of his plan.

i agree that was the original plan, until he was actually winning in the primaries. given the chance, there is no way his ego would pass up the opportunity to be President.

The events of the last month should show that's pretty clearly untrue. Lol. Have you not noticed how incompetent he is yet?

According to Wikipedia, The Donald claims he was worth $200k when he finished college. I'll go ahead and assume he's lying about that because everybody lies about how great they are - everybody in ATOT makes at least 7 figures and drives a Ferrari. Let's round Donald's number up by a factor of 10 and assume he started with $2M.

He'd said recently he started with $1m, although I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he can't keep this number remotely straight.

There's some reasonable evidence that $10m is still much less than he really started with:

Let's face it, Trump lies more than normal.

I really haven't been paying any real attention to either of these rich fools. What I have quite clearly seen is an almost pathological head nodding at each other by Intellectuals convincing themselves, and anyone they can get to listen, that Trump is simultaneously the dumbest yet most cunning person to have ever lived. Who despite employing thousands, hundreds of thousands?, of women and minorities, is hyper misogynist and racist. Who despite doing business deals around the world for decades, is a crazed xenophobe.

If they didn't vote, and worse breed, their behavior would merely be amusing. Ironically, it's very much like a leftist version of Westboro Baptist Church. Intellectual 'But No no no...' in 3, 2, ...

Your desperation is so sweet.

Holy shit! 20% of what his campaign has spent so far to his own companies is more than he has actually *given* (not loaned) to his campaign. It's conceivable that Trump is making a profit on this election.😱

Now he can become President and make a profit for this country!

These aren't mutually exclusive descriptions. For example, a good used car salesman can be skilled at convincing rubes to take whatever car off his hands, yet also be a gambling addicted alcoholic with relationship troubles.

As to his business successes, his mogul of a father was worth hundreds of mil in 70's dollars, and unless that money dropped off the face of the earth he has a substantial part of it naturally compounded into billions. In typical nepotism, he was made president of the family empire and that alone provides a lot of access to the real estate world. Just imagine someone acting the way he does trying to pass a fast-food restaurant manager interview.

His siblings are also extremely well off but don't make such a gaudy display of wealth. Donald is old money who acts like he just signed a rap record contract. Evidently that's convinced a lot of american he's really good at business for some reason.

I'm not desperate; I think everything going on is a joke.

And you deceive yourself on a daily basis. People like you are the reason the GOP haven't evolved, and have refused to change and adapt with the times and are going to be relegated to the dust bin.

Don't soak yourself in petrol and light the fire and then wonder, "why isn't everybody else doing this!!!"

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

The tables have turned ... it used to be the Republicans could expect a pretty decent money advantage for POTUS and other national offices and that advantage could be 2x or more what the Democrats would get. No longer!

In 2012 Obama got about $750M compared to Romney's $500M or about $250M advantage to the Dems. We might see Hillary with a 3X to as much as 10X advantage over Trump.

Here's why...

The folks with money no longer need to worry about a Democrat spoiling there economic plans as both sides can be counted on to give the wealthy exactly what they demand in the areas that matter most to them -- strip mining the middle class. So, if there's nothing one way or another to favor an R over a D in the economic policy game then it's down to how sane the candidates are in other areas and its this factor that is crushing the R's. The R's are batshit crazy on way too many things.

So, when folks with money think about how best to spend there candidate buying money there's nothing favoring an R over a D but on social issues and just plain sanity the R's are and have been for a long time in a rubber room of there own construction. The folks with money will give an even greater advantage to the D's this cycle and there's absolutely nothing to indicate the R's will go back on there meds and straighten out.

I don't recall ever hearing a candidate say "fuck it", grab their toys and go home, but I could totally see Trump doing that, before the general election, giving the Queen her due. lol

Hiring black people and women doesn't mean you don't hold racist or sexist views. Possibly deeply ingrained ones. It just means that you don't have such an intense hatred towards all members of these groups that you'd thoroughly exclude them to great risk and detriment to yourself. Which is a pretty high bar.

If he drops out after the convention and before the general election the RNC will vote on his replacement. It wouldn't constitute a forfeiture of the party's ballot placement.

He'd probably be doing the GOP a favor.

The more I think about this, the more I think Trump is just giving Hillary space and comfort. I think he could pick up the phone and suddenly have 200m in his campaign account. The business man in him won't do that until absolutely necessary, but I have no doubt that he can fire that cannon, if needed. He certainly has the assets to back it up, and once again, it would be a loan to the campaign, which would be repayable.

That said, I don't have much confidence that big money buys the presidency, at least not this time around. Hell....look how much money Bush had and spent, then look what happened to him. I don't think there has been a candidate in recent history, who spent as much per vote as Jeb Bush.

One thing, however, that is assured.....we're gonna get screwed by either a Republican or a Democrat, but I think it's the latter.
