Haven't we been told over the last 8 years that it doesn't matter how many vacations you go on, how much golf you play, the WH is always with you?
And that is a true fact. The president is never away from the job. Pretty sure most "liberals" pointed that out when the right were bashing Obama every time he left the White House for four hours.

So will the right wing be consistent? Obama golfed once every couple of weeks. Trump wants to move back an forth among four properties weekly all needing to be secured around the clock in the event he decides to use them at tax payer expense. Will you guys be criticizing him equally for that?

no you havent been told that. Not once.
In their desperate race to the bottom, Trumpers are intentionally obfuscating the difference between working vacations and working part-time.

A nicer place to live is not really the point of the job. But it gets better:
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/11/12/u...ackage-region&region=top-news&WT.nav=top-news

The guy ran for President just to stroke his own ego at rallies, and now he just wants more of the same, no interest in governing.
I think he was almost counting on losing, then raising a huge fuss about losing, then going back to his life at the Towers. The man who's slogan was "make America great again" is still dealing with the shock that he actually won the election, he has no real "plan" yet. I'm not angry Trump won, Hillary had baggage and is certainly no "visionary" either but this is going to be an interesting 4 years to say the least.

Do you believe that America can be made Great Again by an ignorant boor working part time? I'd imagine that such an individual would need to spend every waking moment, working towards that goal.

I've come full circle and am finding this to be great fun. The screaming crazies who have spent the last 8-10 years blaming everyone else for everything have no one left to blame anymore. They are now in complete control of the whole show with the world's most brazen con man as their ringmaster. I'm just gonna sit back with some popcorn and enjoy this shit circus. Thanks Trump!

A president "is never really on ‘vacation.’ The job and responsibilities go with him wherever he is."
I believe I'll find such sentiment from you.

Well, never bet on the forum's search or a specific user's activity in every topic. The golf photos were probably closer to one off anti-Obama rants rather than a full question or discussion if the President can lead the country outside DC.
Most I could find for senseamp is logically consistent with thinking this is somehow an issue.
Obama should not be going on vacations, he should be working hard to get more of his agenda passed.
I remain adamant that it really does not matter where Mr. Trump spends most of his time.
  • Do you object to a President having a second "workplace"?
  • Should the oval office be a President's only office?
  • What is an acceptable time share between the two?

I think many of us saw this from early on. Pence would be the one running the show. If anyone recalls, during the VP search, Trumps team even offered a 'super vice presidency' role to possible contenders. When Kasich was approached for the job:

...according to the Kasich adviser (who spoke only under the condition that he not be named), Donald Jr. wanted to make him an offer nonetheless: Did he have any interest in being the most powerful vice president in history?

When Kasich’s adviser asked how this would be the case, Donald Jr. explained that his father’s vice president would be in charge of domestic and foreign policy.

Then what, the adviser asked, would Trump be in charge of?

“Making America great again” was the casual reply.

For a man who has always declared himself as a 'winner', Trump imo only wanted the presidency since it its considered the ultimate achievement. And as such complements his eqo perfectly. But that it may require a lot of focus and attention was just an afterthought.

Oh, LK identifies with a sexually abusive belligerent. I'm not expecting any meaningful discussion.

Trump does actually not look "happy", in all the recent reports after the election I have seen in the news.

I guess it sinks in now (SLOWLY) what it actually means "to be president"...and that this is not a job that is done w/ rhetoric and insulting speeches. (The only "quality" this guy even has). Simply spoken: It really seems to me he is not "thrilled" about being the prez, he'd rather have others do this work. This is how I see it.

This is where he starts getting the PDB and finds out the reality of what it means that he is president and how the world is truly responding. The impact his words have had. Would be sobering for anyone I would think.

His Majesty will be retiring to his TV shows and his towers while Prime Minister Pence handles the tedious day to day affairs of running the empire.

As long as he doesn't leave Pence in charge, I'm okay with this. If President Trump ever falls ill, I'm lighting a candle for the man.

I can't imagine being 70 and wanting to work more than 3 or 4 hours a week, if that.

Leave a few people in charge and fuck off down to Florida for a few months.

My guess is that the Secret Service and the NYC will put the kibosh on Trump Tower. Too disruptive to close off a block or two perimeter to secure the building in Midtown Manhattan.

Mar-a-Lago is a different story. Relatively easy to secure. And he'll get his wish to prevent flyovers from the Palm Beach airport.
