We already knew President Shit For Brains wanted to use the military in Mexico and on the border.

Esper can go get f'd.
Yep. Essentially all of these officials are saying 'from firsthand experience I knew the current president to be an amoral, sociopathic maniac but did not feel it was appropriate to warn the country until after the 2020 election'.

Esper says Trump wanted to launch Patriot missile strikes against Mexico, then lie and claim some other country did it.

“A big boy did it and ran away.”

“I don’t like unpatriotic missiles, they’re losers.”

It's obvious he doesn't even know what a Patriot missile is. t was too arcane for him to understand that Patriot missiles are designed for ground-to-air strikes. Or that a missile with a top range of less than 100 miles would fool anybody into thinking that some other country was responsible, but this is the guy who thought we could stop Russia by bombing them with fighter jets with a Chinese flag painted on them. They’re those "hydrosonic" missiles that fire from the invisible planes.

Hydrosonic? Faster than the speed of… water?
Still giving away secrets. Show off!

not only illegal, it would have set a very bad example and blow up in his face because if he had ordered it, it would never been kept quite and most likely leaked out.

in some ways it's a shame that it didn't happen, because it would have more effectively galvanized the country against the fascist GOP party that has only ever enabled the fucking orcs in the Trump crime family.

They would be up for treason and other high crimes against the state by now, which is what they still deserve.

It may have, like other events in history, been the necessary tragedy to cleanse this country of the filth of all GOP pieces of shit.

I hate to say it, but something like that is probably still necessary, and only a matter of time. If the United States is to survive of course.

Trump is still desperately trying to seek immunity from prosecution that his former job gave him. If that's not reason enough to say anything/do anything to get his presidency back then the only other reason I can think of is how much more wealthy he and his family became as a result of his leveraging his position of power in that way.

Both of those reasons are, of course, furthest from why any individual would want to seek the presidency yet there he is in all of his criminally infused glory attempting to subvert the electoral system our democracy relies on with the full support of the party he leads in order for he and they to prop up a dictatorship for themselves whose sole purpose is to keep power out of the hands of the majority of the nation.

If he is somehow elected again, which I doubt, it will mean the end of democracy and the rule of law in the US.

What is he going to do that hasn’t already been done?

Win?
No joke... Trump flailed around and was largely enfeebled by NOT surrounding himself with yes-men. His revolving door cabinet thwarted a lot of what he wanted to get done. He could put worse men in positions of power, starting with the AG for example. I certainly would NOT like to see him try.

I think it's more of what the Repubs in the legislature and the Supreme Court will do in their support for Trump's efforts at getting himself back in the White House. As Trump goes so does the party. They're all looking at Trump as their key toward taking back the gov't and keeping it indefinitely.

He will call for violence against everyone that opposes him. Senators, representatives, judges, governors. mayors, celebrities, etc., and his base will respond, with violence.

This revelation does not seem to be getting the incredible newsworthy play it deserves.

And with major Republicans hinting that Trump will win his party's nomination if he runs in 2024, I believe with all the non-stop anti-Black and anti-Dem Party ads we are sure to see and hear, I really do not see how this liar could lose.

Voter Suppression will certainly depress Dem turnout.
