Are these protesters trying to convince Trump supporters that they're assholes and you're offended? They'll be proud of that. They want that.

Are these protesters trying to bolster Trump's message that liberals are trying to silence him because he's telling hard truths? Good job, you played into his message.

Are these protesters trying to make the mistreatment of people at his rallies not seem so bad by giving the impression that there are troublemakers that attend them? Great.

There's no upside to it. these protesters are not going to gain anything by doing it. You can only lose. Why the fuck would you do it?

This is probably the best thing that could happen to the Trump campaign. It alleviates problems he was having (violent rallies) by suggesting he's not the troublemaker. It makes him sympathetic. It makes it look like the boogeyman he's rallying against might really exist.

Everyone involved in this protest is a fucking moron. Even though Bernie has nothing to do with this and clearly wouldn't stand for this, he'll probably be collateral damage because the narrative will say it's all Bernie supporters, not his true supporters, and even though it's probably mostly a mix of BLM retards, communist/anarchist/emo kids who love to protest anything, and groups of opportunistic protesters who don't actually care but love an opportunity for violence and looting.

This is exactly the sort of thing that will light a spark in Trump's campaign, excuse his flaws, and make him sympathetic to a much bigger range of voters. They gave the impression that the nonsense he's rallying against is actually real, and now people are going to support him to fight you. Good job you fucking idiots.

And at his previous appearances they've largely taken control of any rogue protesters immediately (often with violence, which furthers the "bully" narrative). But this time, they didn't do anything about the protesters, and now Trump can start creating the narrative that he's the victim of those nasty black troublemakers, and radical communistas, and filthy Bernie Sanders supporters. "I just didn't want to see people get hurt," the noble statesman said after the cancellation.

Furthermore as we discussed before, Trump is explicitly trying to fuck over regular people so he can shower money on the 01%. His tax plan is quite explicit on that count.

He is by far the biggest vehicle for making the ultra rich even richer, the only difference is that he lies more brazenly to the face of his supporters than Republicans generally do. Usually Republicans admit that they are giving more money to rich people but claim it is a good idea. Trump wants to give more money to rich people than any republican in history, but instead when asked about it just lies and claims he isn't.

Trump is a idiot and a hypocrite. And he certainly bears responsibility in the way his rally's go down. He went from "I'll knock the crap out of him" to "I certainly don't condone that at all". Fully contradicting himself yet again. He's retweeted bogus stats on black crime from open white supremacists and neo-nazis. He's also been very slow to disavow racist supporters like David Duke and the kkk, and feigned ignorance of Duke even though he had specifically criticized Duke years before. he's full of shit yet again.

But, these protests have made him the "victim" to his followers and some on the fence casual observers.

The most counterproductive way to convince someone you have a virtue is to baldly declare your possession of that virtue.

I'm not at all a fan of the protesters who are shouting profanities or jeering at Trump supporters. That's some shitty lazy activism.

Trump should absolutely be protested, but the audience for a protest is the general public. You want the public to look at you, and to look at those you're protesting, and think, "Wow, the protesters really are a decent sort, and look at those shitty fuckers they're protesting against!" That's how Gandhi and other effective nonviolent protesters made it work.

These protesters aren't doing that. The casual observer will see them, and see the Trump supporters, and see no real difference between them. That's ineffective protest tactics 101.

An effective protest against Trump might include something like a line of people, each holding a picture of an undocumented child deported from the US, each person ready to tell the story of that child. Something quiet, something visceral, something that confronts emotionally and morally but not physically.
