In a roundabout way I agree he was acknowledging she cared about her husband.

It was also boomer joke about how a lot of wives hate their husbands and surprisingly a self-deprecating joke on himself because I’m sure his wives wouldn’t miss him.

It is deplorable for a man running for President to be so craven in his jokes. It is amazing how far we have fallen America. Howard Dean screamed yippee and was ostracized when running for President not too long ago. Now we have this

Actually I see the past and the present in this regard as the same thing. Repressed self hate is a prison in which contempt for life reigns such that if Dean expresses enthusiasm for life he is despised for breaking the rules. No signs of life are allowed because it announces to us as a mirror, indicating that we, ourselves, are actually emotionally dead. That must not be allowed.

But when permission is given to manifest one's contempt for the living it's crucifixion time in reverse. Now we can revel in the sick pleasures of expressing our hatred out loud.
