If Trump has any kind of power or credibility left to barter with, it's in that base support of die hard loonies that he's managed to scam his way into their hearts. He should know this by now, and for the fact that he keeps holding rallies with them, it seems he knows this very well.
It's the one big stick he has left to swing at his detractors, many of whom reside in the halls of Congress on his side of the aisle. Funny thing is though, his biggest fan base that's cheering him on is the Democrats. They just simply adore Trump for the way he manages to drag himself and the party he leads down into the sewers of disgrace and insanity/inanity on a tweet by tweet basis.
But Mr.-Can't-Do-No-Wrong has just about signed every bogus check to the GOP he's managed to get away with, and will soon be talking nice to the Dems (if he hasn't already on the down low) to save his ass from being *gasp* humiliated in front of the whole world. He's desperately desperate and there's nothing so low that he'd try in order to "keep that image all polished up and sparkly".
So the burden of the job he wanted ain't the job he thought it was where he is Long Dong King Kong of the playground and everybody must play by his rules or get fired. So off he goes to his safe space out there on those golf courses of his where he can reminisce about the days of old where he was Lord and Master of all that he worked so hard for.
Heh, and every living ex-president before him, well, they're all having stomach and face cramps from laughing their asses off at Trump's attempts at appearing to be presidential while not actually having the ability to do even that, let alone shepherd the nation into his very own version of MAGA.
