The Australian billionaire he shared information with about our nuclear subs apparently repeated what Trump told him to dozens of people, through e-mails and texts. He told him how many warheads the subs carry, and how close they can get to Russian subs without being detected. Sounds like another easily provable charge to add to the docs case.
Doubt it. Smith on purposely left out more sensitive documents out of the indictment. Top secret stuff they don’t want revealed during trial.

I think this a whole different level on the espionage act. Fucker has to be sent to jail for this. I think it is almost worse that he did it just to brag.

I don’t want to blow anyone’s hair back but all the people who claimed to care about Hillary’s emails were giant liars.
Funny you mention this, I just read a comment on a YT video from a MAGAtard

"Hillary deleted 30,000 emails after being Subpoenaed, Trump just didn't return the documents when asked. It's totally not the same thing" While they were technically right, both are really bad, and what Hillary did or didn't do doesn't lessen what Trump did.

Jesus f'in Christ is he a national security threat. Apparently it can always be worse with trump and it is. Can we lock him up already?

And if this was proven in court, to where even MAGAtards couldn't deny it happened, 95% of them won't care and will still vote for him in 2024. And there will be idiots out there who say they're not even Republicans but thanks to this info, they're now going to vote for him.

It's terrifying how his followers follow him.

I mean that’s a made up series of events but even taken at face value destroying classified documents is what you’re supposed to do as opposed to keeping them and trying to hide this fact from the government.

And you will notice that all the conservatives who pretended to care about this sort of thing in 2016 have nothing to say now.

Why? Because they never cared - the media massively failed the country because they knew conservatives were lying but pretended otherwise because to point out the obvious was 'bias'.

The issue is that we know Trump had classified documents; no actual classified documents were found among Clinton's email; there were sensitive items and items classified AFTER she received the email. Big difference.

Oh I completely agree - there is zero evidence that Clinton knowingly retained classified information improperly at any time, despite lots of conservatives lying and saying otherwise.

I'm saying even if what they said were true destroying them is the proper course of action as opposed to what Trump did, which was conspire to continue illegally having them and then lying to the government about it.

so…I “shared” this story in the politics forum over at “The Kingdom of Crap” which has a definite right wing bias…
Here are some of the replies:

"sources" we should be done with this shit
Weren't we selling some nuclear subs to Australia?

Ah, yes: U.S. to sell nuke-powered subs to Australia in unprecedented deal - POLITICO

So, if he really was doing what that article says, likely he was trying to keep the deal going.

Which would be fine if he were still the President at the time.
I don't disagree. But it may not be illegal either.

While Pratt told investigators he couldn’t tell if what Trump said about U.S. submarines was real or just bluster
It's unclear if the information was accurate
potentially sensitive

Couch it a little harder....

"At 25 knots, our boat is quieter than the last Los Angeles-class submarines sitting at the pier," says Lt. Cmdr. Bob Aronson, the boat's executive officer.
That took all of two minutes to find. How close can we get to a Russian sub? Someone else can search that out. Doesn't sound like he said anything that isn't public information. Nowhere in the article did it say anything Trump said was classified, top secret, damaging to the fleet, etc... (Clearly... googling that info was easy) Smith knew about the conversation when he indicted Trump for the Mar a Lago documents raid. Doesn't make sense that it wouldn't be part of the indictment if it was classified information.

This is another leak to poke at Trump. Maybe a leak to prep for another baseless indictment. Why not at this point? Another case to bog down his campaign.

If this had been something a former DEMOCRAT president had done…the righties would be screaming for his head…but since it was King Donnie the Twice Impeached…and Oft Indicted, it’s nothing to be concerned about.

As expected (and as I warned originally as Cannon was appointed to the case in June), Cannon is letting the case drag out indefinitely. Basically, absolutely nothing has happened to progress the case in Florida - at all - in the last 4 months that she's been on it. The very first hard deadline was coming up soon, and she has now postponed that indefinitely pending review of a brand new Trump petition to delay meeting his first deadline, and further petition to delay the schedule until post-2024 election.

None of the difficult rulings for the case have even been started - e.g. on how much of the classified info can been shown at trial to jury vs. redacted. While the trial is notionally still set for May 20 next year, zero chance it starts that soon with Cannon on the case. I doubt she'll grant the post-election timeline for now, as optics would look bad, but she'll just let it happen piece by piece by constantly dragging out the schedule.
