News Trump: Mar-a-Lago just raided by FBI

I have to be honest, I don’t like the precedent that is being set. While I agree we cannot allow a President to grift an incredible amount and ignore requests for documents and outright lie to the FBI.
I feel this is a moment that will come back to bite future former Presidents needlessly.
Before you crap your pants over this, as shown I agree the former President needs to be accountable, I fear the urge to “get back” at the next guy will simply increase partisanship.
I am avoiding the super dark question which certainly is a possibility the former President was shopping these secrets for money.
Never in the history has a president refused to accept the results of an election, to the point or stirring up January 6.
I cannot recall an exiting president acting anything like this ranting crybaby.
Those documents were just more of his unwillingness to accept the results and acknowledge the election results.
" See look at me I still have these and they are secret" at Bedminster.
Any other former president has wanted to put the job behind them.

You should realize that those statements that Trump made in 2016 about his intention to make sure that security information was fully protected was just him reading from a teleprompter. He did not write that stuff. It's entirely above his level. Read any of it. He has never been capable of writing things like that. DJT's just the head of the snake. The snake is the forces, the money, the interests (uh, including Russia), that by hook and crook got him elected, the GOP being the official political arm.

Uh, heard on national news (NBC) last night that Trump's top 2 defense lawyers just resigned from his team. Message from what's left of Trump's team is they will be replaced by Tuesday (arraignment day). Oh, they're got it sooooooooo together... 🙄

Read your last sentence out loud to yourself….
…Either way, there is no Avenue to pause the cock till after the 2024 elections, unless the judge herself violates the laws, as there are not enough of those certain pre-trial motions to lawfully delay the trial that long. Trump can't keep refilling the same motion over and over, as doing so in-itself violates the law.
Pause the what now?!

A little devils advocate role playing here because... dems and libs can put themselves into the shoes of others and try to see the prospective from the other side. Maga? They are absolutely incapable of doing this. But here it goes.... my playing the devils advocate.

If I were defending Trump, I would first ask was there any actual damage done? Trump took boxes, he shows a few people items from those boxes and those people weren't necessarily special or important people. It was more a case of two things happening. #1, Trump is a hoarder plain and simple and #2, Trump is a big show off. That is what we are looking at here, if you want to play the devils advocate, we are looking at a hoarder and a show-off.

Why did Trump take the boxes and why did he lie about giving them back? Because like a child Donald Trump thinks anything he had as president is his to keep. But it's really only junk, the boxes are hoarder boxes. Look at how he stored them. They were stored as junk and not as if Trump actually valued them. That is the mindset of a hoarder. Family try to break the hoarding habit but the hoarder refuses and will actually become violent when insisting on keeping the junk.

You know who the real loser is here? Melania Trump. Donald is going to keep this junk until the day he dies, then as with any widow it will be up to Melania to finally get rid of the shit. Donald doesn't know why he does this, he's an idiot as are most hoarders. And his stubbornness to get rid of the shit makes no sense because hoarders are mentally sick people.

When I watch those hoarder TV shows and the families fighting their loved ones over hoarding a broken item with rat-piss all over it and the hoarder still refuses to part with the item, I feel the only real solution is to just take out a gun she shoot them in the head. That is about the only way to deal with a hoarder. Just blow them away and relieve them of their misery.

First of all, no one not even Donald believed he would ever be elected president. Everyone including Donald Trump believed Hillary had it wrapped up. So you have Donald Trump elected and he can't believe it. So naturally, anything and everything he touched as president he feels belongs to him. And damn it... he's going to keep it. I bet the Whitehouse china and the light fixtures are in those boxes too. And every roll of Whitehouse toilet paper not used.

And far as showing classified docs to visitors, Trump was just showing off. Acting the big man. SEE WHAT THE MILITARY PREPARED FOR ME? SEE THIS COOL MAP? THEY DID THIS FOR ME BECAUSE "I WAS THE PRESIDENT". And Trump says this like he can't himself believe it really happened, and he wants to show off to prove he was once really the president.
And the people Trump is trying to impress probably don't really give a damn, they are only acting polite and humoring Donald Trump. Trying to pretend they really care about an old map made up by some military types. So what, Donald.... So what?

And even with that showing off of classified docs, what damage was really done? It wasn't a Soviet spy looking at those documents, it was bored to death visitors that Trump was trying to impress. For Donald to say SEE, I REALLY WAS ONCE THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. SEE? There was no damage done, no national security threatened. It was a child showing off his toys. His toys that grandma gave and grandma said NOW REMEMBER DONALD, LEAVE THE TOYS HERE AND YOU CAN PLAY WITH THEM WHEN YOU VISIT ME. But no.... Donald insisted on taking those toys home to his own house, Fuck grandma. Fuck the US government. Fuck the rules. Fuck Merrick Garland. I'm keeping my toys.
And no doubt Melania Trump says DONALD, DO YOU REALLY NEED THIS SHIT? NOW WE CAN'T USE THAT BATHROOM AND WE CANT USE THAT STAGE, SO DO YOU REALLY NEED THIS CRAP?

So with playing devils advocate, what harm did Donald Trump really do? He just wanted to keep "his stuff from grandmas house" i.e. the US government, and show it off to people. Donald Trump is like a little child, a child that hoards shit. Boxes and boxes that eventually it will be up to poor widowed Melania to dispose of. And as with most widows of hoarders she won't be happy about it. But at least she will get her bathroom back.

If I were defending Trump, I would first ask was there any actual damage done?
OK, let me stop right there and ask you or anybody: Is there any way in this universe to assert with any credulity that some severe damage (perhaps MASSIVE) has not resulted? Not in the least. So much opportunity there for highly sensitive info to have gotten into the "wrong hands." GUILTY AS CHARGED. This guy is a poster boy for what not to do in life. What's more he's his own fall guy. He dug his own pit/grave. Some others go down, have already gone down around him, but slippery Don can't escape this time. Jack Smith and the DOJ have got the goods on him.

It wasn't a Soviet spy looking at those documents, it was bored to death visitors that Trump was trying to impress.

You don't know this. Spies are clandestine. Besides that, it was our laws that Trump thumbed his nose at. The law stipulates that he be prosecuted. The facts are damning. He violated laws to protect national security, he did it far worse than anyone has ever done. Do we do anything about it? We better.

You don't know this:

True and I agree. I was just playing the devils advocate from the viewpoint of Donald Trump. He's not smart enough to be intentionally devious, he's just an idiot. If any of us had visited maralago as Trump's guest, I bet Trump would have dragged us down to the basement or wherever to bore us with classified documents.
Trump should never have been president in the first place, even he can't believe it actually happened and that is why he has no respect for the job. Like owning a nice house and renting it out to hippies. Naturally they are going to trash it and not respect your property. Donald Trump has no resect for democracy nor government authority. He never has. Never will. He really is like a child, a mentally ill child. I get that, but what I don't get are the millions who follow this idiocy. What the hell is THEIR problem???? 🙄

You bad mouth hippies. Trump's basically sold out the whole country and you equate this with him having the bad judgment to trust his house to hippies. What do you have against hippies? FGS.

Sez the hippie who lives in Berzerkely.... 😛

"In my administration, I'm going to enforce all laws concerning the protection of classified information. No one is above the law."
- Donald Trump, August 18, 2016

"We can't have someone in the Oval Office who doesn't understand confidential or classified."

- Donald Trump, September 6, 2016

Those and 6 other laughably false and hypocritical statements are all quoted in the indictment. Strictly speaking, these quotes are actually not relevant in the case. I think the prosecutor just wants to remind people of what a rancid, festering pile of turds this man is.

And WTF not? I've know a lot of smart, cool hippies. And yes, some who lived in Berkeley. You know where "hippies" got that moniker? People who are hip, i.e. know WTF is going on.

"Hippies" have gotten a lot of bad press they didn't deserve. It should not be viewed as a term of derision. And yes, I live in Berkeley, but you've never seen me extoll Berkeley or proclaim there's no jerks here. What's your fuckin' problem, smartass? Why do you have to try to get under my skin? Do I have to ignore you? Maybe I should.

Tell me you have never handled classified material without telling me that. Some of these documents were of programs so classified that their code names were classified. Just the code name getting out there on google could do serious damage to the national security.

Further, there are spies literally everywhere, and I absolutely promise there are spies around the most loose lipped president that's ever lived. Regular engineers and military officers are hit up for information all the time in bars, etc. Many case studies of this happening. What country wouldn't pay for their spy(ies) to have a membership at his clubs, even to just overhear him BSing with others? Even non-"spies" there would be a ton of foreign nationals and foreign dignitaries that could've overheard/seen information and sent it back home.

And they are only willing to show these 31. Many former intelligence agency members believe far more sensitive stuff that couldn’t be added to this indictment

I mean that's basically pleading guilty and asking for mitigation in the sentencing.
I not going to argue that that's not Donalds best option but I can't see him doing that.
