Clarence Thomas has responded to Trump's request and set a deadline for the DOJ to respond to Trump's appeal to the SC to Tuesday.

unfortunately, i can't find an actual news source but this YT video discusses it and has screenshots of the filings...

Uncle Ruckus has responded to Trump's request.

Forgot to note - this new 11th Circuit hearing to dismiss the entire Trump suit from Cannon will be in front of a new random 3 person panel, not assigned back to the same panel that heard the first DoJ appeal

So let me get this straight, you predicted yesterday that the Supreme Court would either review the appeal and rule on it or not review the appeal and not rule on it?

I was predicting that either SC would either just ignore this request, or if they decide to take it up it would be because they intend to rule in Trumps favor no matter what dubious legal reasoning they have to pull out of their conservative asses to do so. There is no legitimate legal argument being made here, so why is the court entertaining it?

I think it has gone unnoticed that the thing Trump is appealing will have little to no effect on the criminal case against him even if SCOTUS ruled in his favor.

I agree, but I think this is just a delaying tactic? I don't know why Trump's team wants to delay, but it seems to be their main goal. I thought the point was to get past the midterms, but he has already done that, so maybe he has a date goal for officially announcing his candidacy and is trying to delay to after that? Either that or maybe they think they can pull a Paxton and delaying forever? Maybe he thinks he can draw this out two more years and get a Republican in the White House who will make it all go away?
I really don't know, I'm straight up guessing here.

They aren't going to rule in his favor on this. You may even see a one paragraph statement which is a refusal to hear the case. Like we saw with the two election conspiracy cases that went to the SCOTUS in 2020.
Wouldn't they have just done that then instead of asking the DOJ for a response? That makes it sound like they are going to give a ruling.

Trump probably has more secret documents he doesn't admit having. His lawyers are stonewalling:

This is absolutely no surprise to anyone that has been paying attention. Trump admitted to moving items to more than 1 location during his interview with Hannity.

Like that women said; 12 men to carry Ivanka’s casket.

JFC. These idiots have no clue that 45 doesn't give a shit about them and if he ever got back in power he would turn the US into North Korea.

I can put out some seriously dangerous SBDs. You can ask my wife.

Does this mean that I need to get out my 92F and get it ready for a counter offensive movement.

"duo over"

Yeah, I'm super worried about this crowd ...

While I'm not particularly afraid of them taking over the country (this way... however, getting election deniers elected to local and state office is another, more scary story) I am remembering the OK City bombing and worried about terrorist attacks.

Talk of a civil war is up 3000%, yes 3000% on social media.

Trump is requesting that documents show he is guilty not be made available to DOJ; this has nothing to do with priv. for which he is hiding behind; and this demonstrate the real reason is that requested a special master; not to hide priv documents but in hope he could hide incriminating documents:

Not the Saudi/Jared deal papers!

Interesting. I don't know how accurate this is. It at the very least shows Trump was well aware he held classified documents and that he had been asked to return them.

According to The Daily Beast, after the National Archives had requested the return of classified materials from Trump for more than a year , he floated the idea that he would give the government back the classified stuff he had in exchange for for proof that the FBI’s Russia investigation was a “hoax." His aides used good sense and never made the proffer to the government.

Totally sounds like the transactional hyper sensitive guy the former President is. Also I suspect he is similar to me regarding “deals” I frequently throw out strange sounding things during the sales process simply to see where we are at it is very possible he was simply throwing an idea out to see the reaction.

He's not stupid, just totally corrupt, which is amplified 10x by his mental illness.

That’s the crime. Proving intent is often hard but it’s not hard here.

I swear I’m going to make an ‘I told you so’ thread when this idiot gets indicted.
