The highlighted doesn't matter...because Trump de-classified the documents! In(or at least, that's the right-wing spin on this issue)

Indeed. This whole master idea actually came about because one lawyer who trump sought but who turned down the job, went on msnbc and was asked what he would do if he was trumps lawyer and he said he would ask for a special master. I shit you not, the next day we heard trumps lawyers asking for a special master.

WTF are your talking out of your hat?

No classified document can be declassified without a rather elaborate procedure. It's entirely easy to prove one way or the other. The Trump legal team is fully aware that they don't have a leg to stand on if they claim that stuff was or may be declassified. Neither do you!

Settle the fuck down. It's not MY argument...I hope they nail the orange shitstain for treason and execute the beautiful being.

The trumpies are clIming that as President, all Trump had to do is say (apparently even in his head) " Abra-ca-dabra! these documents...this entire room full of documents, EVERYTHING that is currently classified by the US government everywhere, is now declassified."

I think that argument is bullshit. I agree the president has the right to declassify documents, but that there are (or fucking well should be) limits, procedures, and records of exactly what was declassified...and why.

Shitlol

I worked in Linden, New Jersey in the late 80’s on some Sikorsky S-76 helicopters. The hanger that the maintenance was done in also had the tangerine terrorist’s S-76 hangered way in back with the nose wheel removed. My coworker asked the hanger owner if he wanted us to fix it. He said it's fine, dude owes me five grand rent! That scow won't move until it's paid!
Yeah he's pretty famous around these parts for screwing over tons of businesses, including lots of contractors, lots of blue collar small companies that did all kinds of work on his casinos. It broke a lot of those small businesses - They saw these big contracts and put out a lot of capital to fulfill them with materials and labor and then got screwed over by Trump. Meanwhile the blue collar voters love Trump. Go figure.

If you had been following this thread you wouldn't have thought that, you would know that.

Anybody claiming that Trump had a "standing order" to classify anything is a treasonous asshole, full of shit and is to be avoided completely.

So, why did you post this?

It WAS YOUR argument.

Dude...read my posts with your green hair filters off.

(or at least, that's the right-wing spin on this issue)

This isn't the only forum I belong to. The other one where I spend a lot of time tends to be pretty right wing.

I know you're old...I never thought you were stupid. Take time to read what I post BEFORE you blow your panties into such a wad. I am a lifelong Democrat...but I AM NOT a liberal Democrat.

I read what you said (including your smart-ass gaslighting insults). Don't playact with me. You're a goddamn idiot to parrot what the right wingers are saying in your other forum, get the fuck out with that shit.

Looks like Trump and his lawyers are going to get away scot-free after imposing a law, the same law used by Lincoln to free the slaves.
I'm kidding... But at this point I wouldn't be that surprised.
There MUST BE some crazy obscure law out there on the books that Trump could use? There always is....

Admit it folks, NONE OF US had had ever heard of a "special master" before Donald Trump pulled that one out of his hat. I just figured "special master" had something to do with Trump's relationship with Stormy Daniels. So, what else is in that hat of Donald Trump? What else will he use?

One thing you gotta admit about Trump and his lawyers, they find the craziest hidden legal crap that democrats had no idea ever existed. I go back to Al Gore and think, Al should have been the next president after Clinton. But GW Bush, just like Donald Trump, had the better lawyers and a hat full of tricks. Abracadabra!

Nah, "special masters" are kind of common when the courts or police have go go through a lawyer's files for whatever reason. (often following the death of a lawyer, looking for evidence)
I can't see letting one go through classified documents though.

It's not "parrotting," just telling you what that side is arguing. That's something that will have to be battled over in court.

here are a couple of examples:

Yet even in the fantasy world where those docs are declassified, nuclear secrets and whatnot, its still not the property of a civilian, ex president at that.
What is Trumps gambit here? That his special master will look at these “declassified” nuclear secrets, say “yea, they Trumps personal property” and whisk it all under the table?
Or is he simply playing for time?
All those boxes going on planes surely have been converted to ashes by now, still though.
Most corrupt ever?

Agreed. Declassified or not, Trump is guilty of stealing government property. I don't see how the "special master" can just "give them" to Trump. (but stranger things have happened)
Yes, I'm sure if those boxes contained US documents, they've either been destroyed...or disbursed to "Trump's special friends."
Most corrupt ever? By magnitudes incomprehensible to us "normal" people.

I think his reason for calling them declassified is to lessen the the public perception impact on him and perhaps on the legal front as well. When he uses the D word, he is sort of 'more exonerated' by his base and gives more credence to his witch hunt argument.

"Trump did the lord's work by taking it to those northern yankee liberals!"

Remember, all of his fans are southern and southwestern, yankee-hating, mud-eating bigoted terrorists. You won't find a person that has actually known Trump for more than 5 or 6 minutes that would ever call him a friend.

He's surrounded by family and sycophants. "Business-types" that really only ever may find themselves interacting with him due to conditions of work.

Yup this is why it’s like a library book argument came up. Like how dare Biden come after the orange monkey for such a minor thing.
