I still remember reading a poster (somewhere) from a guy that was a teen in 1999, and had a super prepper as a father, basement full of food, ammo out the wazoo, etc., that thought that civilization would end when all the computers crashed at 1/1/2000 00:00:01.
He said his dad was up, candles already lit, watching TV when the ball fell in Times Square. About a minute later he sat back in his chair and said "well fuck, the lights didn't even blink", turned the TV off and went to bed.

LOL, My father in law sent us a "Patriots food kit" when Obama got elected, 3 huge laundry-basket sized tubs of freeze-dried stuff in bags, keeps for 25 years. I listen to AM Fox news on my short ride into work and guess what?, they are pimping it like mad again. Tried a few "meals" of mine and yuk, salty, nasty crap and this is from a guy whose co-workers call "racoon" due to the fact I'll eat almost anything.
 
Now that the cultists actually had a seat at the table for 4 years, they're going to make their previous iteration, "Tea Party Patriots", look sane by comparison.
