I strongly believe, in this case, that the thrust of your deep empathy is misplaced. Unless you will now post the same tender humanitarian empathy for Adolf Eichmann and Josef Megele, that is. Ball's in your court.
I wouldn't myself equate tender humanitarian empathy for the recognition that when human beings are subjected to hideous cruelty as children they can become hideously cruel themselves as a mechanical cause-effect. The empathy isn't for the person who has become a monster but for the inevitability that this is why monsters exist. You lament the fact that there can be no good without evil, that the love of one creates the hate of the other. To see the world as it it is, in my opinion, is to let go of good and evil and to let go of them you have to let go of the notion of justification of blame. There is only love and the heartbreak that love brings.

Life loves life and where hate threatens life with no other way out, life will end evil if it can. No hate needed. It's just how life is. My opinion.

I think sometimes, people choose between morality, and reality, and the cow needed a job.

SHS deserves all the mental anguish coming her way as far as I'm concerned. She chose to work for a mentally ill sociopath and Putin appeaser. Boo fucking hoo. Que the quantum violin.

What if I told you "I have a job for you. It pays $240,000 a year, and all you have to do, is talk to newspaper people twice a day. That's it. And not only that, I'm going to hire a bunch of assistants to do the job for you so sometimes you won't even have to go out there.

There's one catch though, you have to explain why Hitler was right, whether you believe he was or not."

Would you take the job?

You missed the important larger point. I don't have sympathy for her actions. I not approve of her. I find her to be aiding a terrible person, Trump. She has earned her scorn.

Again that's not the point, rather that people like her are made, and that is what's tragic.

She's just a PR person. Lying is the literal job description / requirement. It's the entire purpose of their profession.

Maybe Sanders is learning the golden rule: Trump always screws over everyone. It's just a question of how long you hold out before it happens.
I'm really surprised that Trump hasn't attacked her over her looks, weight, sleepy eye yet. We will know she is on her way out when he starts.

I might take it if I can get a guarantee minimum 1 or 2 year salary on that contract. Say some crazy shit, then say some even crazier shit that loudly contradicts the earlier crazy shit that I said, prompting a firing instead of resignation. I would retain that Aveneti lawyer dude to make sure that contract is properly written and honored towards my benefit, especially when my behavior forces them to fire me.

:D

She's the Press Secretary of the WH and POTUS. She is absolutely not a PR person. This is backwards thinking, and it's absolutely what the Trump admin and GOP want you to think. a PR person is who Tom Cruise hires to hide his insane private support of child slavery and funding of 3rd world murder squads.

The job of a Press Secretary is to disseminate important information and policy from the administration to the public. Obviously, there is a need to control and protect highly sensitive information, but the primary job is to inform the public of facts. Lying, is literally not the job description of the PSotUSA. Again, this position serves the people and the presidency--it does not serve the president.

This just shows how goddamn damaging the GOP and the Trump administration are to the central value system of this country: when the primary voice for the policies of the administration are easily written off as "Some liar whose job it is to protect the indiscretions of their celebrity client."

You will have noted that I have no kind words for her and have said she is accountable for her actions. She deserves all we say and maybe more, but there are aspects of the human condition, things that lie below the visible, the "pasteboard mask" of Ahab and like him it is the thing behind it I chiefly hate. Again I have no tears for her either, but I cannot help at times to wonder at our species that creates people who deserve no quarter. That's how my "eyesight" works, that there is a depth to reality that I must confront.

I need to read that fucking book.

I wouldn't. An easy choice IMO, and I'm not even a member of the religious right like she is, those that hold themselves up as examples of patriotic American virtue.

What if I told you that SHS, like so many holy rollers, is willing to suppress all manner of values and ethics as long as money and progress on the evangelical agenda is made.
