Read up on Herbert Hoover, he already tried protectionism, Great Depression ensued.

We begin the cycle anew. Republicans fuck up the economy, democrats get hired to fix it, people complain the entire time that it takes longer to fix something than to break it, dems eventually fix the economy, we put republicans back in charge...

Spot on. I've seen this complete cycle twice in my adult life.

Stephen Moore sounds like a really good source, hahaha! Stephen Moore was one of the principal architects of Sam Brownback's tax policies in Kansas, predicting they would lead to huge increases in growth, jobs, etc. To quote him:

The quality of schools also matters as does the state’s highway system, but it takes years for those policies to pay dividends, while cutting taxes can have a near immediate and permanent impact, which is why we have advised Oklahoma, Kansas, and other states to cut their income tax rates if they want the most effective immediate and lasting boost to their states’ economies.

How'd that work out? Oh yeah, Kansas's economy stalled, neighboring states overtook it, and now they face a budget crisis. I'm sure it will work out TOTALLY DIFFERENTLY this time though!

If Trump wants to he could probably achieve a 3+% growth rate and maybe even somewhere close to 4% for a year or two by using strongly stimulative fiscal policy on an economy that's already functioning pretty well. This would almost certainly lead to high inflation, jacked up interest rates, and a nice recession to follow though. So basically he can't double growth unless he's a moron... which is a scary thought.

Trump will leave the US in a recession or a depression, depending on how long he stays in office.

Make America great again by cutting its standard of living.

Build America's Character Again
Make Americans Delay Gratification again
Make America Thrifty Again
Make Americans Remember that The Best Things in Life are Free or Cost Three Times What They Used to Again

Considering predictive analysts already show that the recession is near, I'll call your bluff as pure hyperbole.

Whomever was inheriting this mess is and was going to have a hard time fixing it.

Oh noes!!!! I can only have 2 TVs in my house instead of 4 or I have to keep my cellphone for 2 years instead of 1. Ouchy!!!

When the two TV's are produced with materials in the USA, and a job is secured with decent wages, I'll take that outcome any day.

And once things get real bad after protectionist orders, that obama mess will have finally manifest.

God these people are so dishonest.

I'll take 2 TVs and free healthcare instead of 4 TVs. But not 2 TVs and nothing, which is what Trump is promising us.

No the Real Americans will be taking the other two in tax handouts.

I wonder if Trump will have those who have given up on finding a job and those who have never had a job but can't find work to the unemployment totals?

Like Trump gives a shit when he's got followers like you.

Well he's got a lot of work ahead of him to bring it all crashing down LOL
if he can make casino's, universities, hotels and numerous other things fail, he can fucking well make a country fail, and don't you bet against him, unless it's at his casino, then bet against him, he's a fucking moron, and you'll most likely win big(ly).

I know so little about economics that I am almost positive I have no idea how little I know.
