He"ll just blame Democrats, minorities, immigrants, women, millennials, dogs & cats living together...whatever.

Oh absolutely. When it comes time for that tax bill to become due he will blame the Democrats for raising his taxes by allowing the Republican tax bill to go into effect as passed.

I make more money than I need to live, at least with my current mortgage and one kid. Also, I honestly doubt my taxes will go up much. The anti-Trump FUD is strong here.

Defense spending could probably be trimmed. But defense spending is a lot less than our social program spending which is full of fat.

The major cause of our red ink is the tax cuts for the masters of the nation, the less than 1 percenters, the ones who have caused the need for much social spending. In fact Ron R is in a large part responsible as he allowed, indeed encouraged, the raiding of pension funds. Suddenly many were left with only social security and what they had participated in to provide for the future was taken. The few benefited and the many bereft, their provisions taken with the blessings of the few.

I haven't been in favor of drastic action but with Mitch blaming these people and others for his actions, perhaps it's time.

While I am amazed at Trumps numbers (Wait... so it ISN'T 50%? Gotcha) what needs to be made very, very clear is that he has only solidified his base, in States where it matters and in the 3 that basically gave him the POTUS he is not doing well at all:

Click the By State button to see State ratings... Pay particular attention to the mid-west. Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Iowa and throw in Pennsylvania...

As per usual it will boil down to who gets out and votes and just how long people in urban areas will have to wait to vote (if they are allowed to vote at all).

Haha so now you're reduced to arguing your taxes will only go up a little. Man, what a great tax cut you got there.

Either your future taxes will go up, your future benefits will be cut, or the debt will be reflated and the amount you need to live will go up to pay for these tax cuts. There is no free lunch, sorry.

Just months ago you were bragging about saving money through the tax cuts (the claimed savings were laughably minuscule, but never mind that). So which is it, are you saving money or merely confident your taxes won't climb "much?"

Oh, right -- you're just changing your story to avoid criticizing Trump. I don't think I've ever seen someone who has attached their self-worth so closely to a political leader that they will contradict themselves just to avoid admitting their 'hero' is flawed.

No matter how much you guys try and spin it, Trump is a popular president and gaining support. In today's partisan world where political agenda is put above what is actually good for America, its about all that can be expected by a president that is performing well.

Trump has been "Gaining Support™" since he took office but for some reason it keeps going down. Maybe it's all those illegals and MS-13 members voting in these polls.

Someone tell me what class I have to take to conclude majority disapproval means popular

In today's partisan world, this is probably what one should expect for a Republican president that is getting it done. Obama's trend was less approval year after year. Trump is going the opposite way.

Well, yeh, he did denuclearize Korea, right? And he sure got 'er done for farmers, huh? The tax cuts were great, too, if you were already rich in the first place.

We're in the middle of a trade war, in a war we must fight and make sacrifices to win. We used to be able to do this because both the left and right were for America, today the left kneels and burns flags. We will go through a little pain before we come out stronger. We're dong this now, and despite the hardships our economy is still thriving, China is hurting. We will get a better trade deal out of this in time. #MAGA

It actually went this way. Trump's high has been mirroring Obama's low. Take a look at how Obama ended. Wanna make a bet Trump comes anywhere close?

The economy isn't thriving in the Rust Belt & small town America. It's thriving in major metro areas. That hasn't changed over the last 2 years. Yet Trump's major support is in the lands the Jerb Creators forgot about, him included. Well, except those people are supposed to make sacrifices for the greater good when they get nothing out of it except the feelz.

So, hold out for the trickle down. Feed the Rich & they'll feed you. Tax cuts for the Rich pay for themselves. Well, kinda sorta maybe if you believe in fairy tales.

Just read this story this weekend: "Middle America is doing a lot better than you think."

The authors of the oped sound a little defensive...

"There have been numerous false and malicious claims that The Heartland Institute is a front for the energy industry and is funded by 'the Koch brothers.' These statements are often made with full knowledge they are untrue; in some cases they are made without such knowledge. With this notice, the reader is informed he/she will have no defense of "innocent mistake" made because of lack of knowledge and may have legal liability for defamation."

Well with their long history of transparency and honesty we can only take them at their word. For example after a round of particularly vigorous defenses of Wal-Mart they came out and said Heartland received no money from Wal-Mart. This was undeniably true! Of course Heartland neglected to mention they instead received $300,000 from the Walton Family Foundation - the foundation of the people who own Wal-Mart. TOTALLY DIFFERENT.

WELL GUYS THEY SURE SOUND LIKE CREDIBLE STAND UP PEOPLE TO ME.
