Trump hatred

I do not want a president that would make me want to hide the fact that I'm American when traveling overseas because I was ashamed. Trump would be that president. Cruz actually scares me more as far as the damage he could do to this country, but Trump I would be more ashamed about.

First off, I don't believe he is an ignorant buffoon.

Well that's fine, but I do. Are you defining name calling as any description that you disagree with? That's pretty silly.

Second, I don't see how it is any different than the other candidates running. None of them have realistic plans.

Then you should look at his proposals more closely. They are substantially less realistic than those of other candidates. Waving your hands and pretending his plans aren't ridiculous and inept is just doing yourself a disservice.

Just go look at his tax plan and laugh. He's either an idiot or he thinks you are.

I admitted before that his tax plan was massively disappointing.

I think Bernie's plan is realistic.. just look at Eisenhower.

Of course we don't appreciate it as much as we do his being a general but his plan is responsible for our driving habits.. he built the national highways.

If Bernie is elected.. we'll all love what he does but when it comes time to sing his praises.. I fear we'll go back to our old habits.
Lol at comping Ike to Bernie. Ike commanded an entire multi national army. His views on everything from logistics to economics and negotiation were far more rounded. Bernie can't hold a candle to ike, nobody can, and to think that is asinine.

Bernie notions of massive tax collection are disproven by history. His giveaways would not be funded and his promises of national and international achievement are a joke.

It's not disappointing, it's hilarious. While most Republican plans are not serious proposals, his is out of the ballpark laughable. The same thing goes for his immigration plan as we've previously covered. Those are the only two plans he's sketched out in any detail whatsoever outside of proclaiming that whatever he comes up with will be 'the best'.

Every one of his plans that have been released so far might as well have been written in crayon for how well written and tethered to reality they are. I'm not sure what you call someone who makes grandiose proclamations about how great he is and how great his policies will be and then ineptly flails when trying to sketch them out in even the simplest terms. I think 'ignorant buffoon' qualifies pretty well.

You know as well as I do that all he has is a personality type that appeals to people who want to feel strong without thinking too hard.

Don't you believe in the placebo effect? If enough of us believe we are going to be great again we will be, no? Of course, I know that the placebo effect is hare to swallow for rational people, but it's been scientifically demonstrated. Then there is the fact of what might happen when one side in a tug of war lets go of the rope. All that stress and strain on the rope has to go somewhere. Imagine the change in atmosphere that would take place of the psychopathological energy of hatred on the right for the left were to evaporate in a trump victory and have to seek an outlet elsewhere. Can we really know there would be no positive results from such a massive perturbation in the Force?

Funny thing is that I agree there really is something to that. If you can get a group of people and fill them with a sense of victory and purpose you really can accomplish things that are otherwise difficult or impossible.

The idea that Donald Trump is such an individual is laughable, however.

The placebo effect, while statistically present, isn't even close to a 100% phenomenon and it would require belief in the first place to manifest. I think there are plenty of people who see Trump in a positive light, people who have an authoritarian nature, folk who come preprogrammed to believe. I for one will be absolutely fascinated if he wins the election because I saw that as a real possibility the moment he entered the race. It fascinates me also that I have very little fear of him winning. It would be, I think, just so fucking interesting. I obviously lack good sense. 🙂

Well I certainly didn't see him getting as far as he has already, so clearly my judgment on the issue is off, haha. When I think about it my best guess would be that this is the Republican primary, specifically in Iowa and New Hampshire. I guess I have a poor understanding of what people on the extreme right wing fringe find to be attractive in a candidate.
