We’ve got ten years of Trump as a political figure playing the same games he always does and the same people who complain about the media and the democrats falling for the same old Trump distraction tactics having a discussion about trumps latest distraction.

Trump isn't some master strategist. He is just an insane guy that continually spouts bullshit, which is then laundered by large national publications as potentially legitimate policy things instead of treating the president as he is: a legitimate crazy and corrupt individual who is tearing out the copper wires of the house of government.

Democrats don't all need to move at the speed of posting. And they don't necessarily need to ignore the random crazy grandpa rant of the day to "focus on kitchen table issues". But they are also working in an unfriendly media environment that keeps messaging siloed thanks to the algorithms, or that normalizes Republican bullshit as "unique legal strategies" or "rarely used powers".
